16/01/2023 – The video surveillance system of the Integrated Security and Intelligence Center (CISI) managed to recover a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was stolen in downtown Aracruz. When CISI was called, it began to investigate and located the vehicle in the São Marcus neighborhood. The Military Policemen were then triggered and after a chase managed to recover the car. The two criminals involved were arrested.
25/01/2023 – A 27-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her ex-husband inside the clothing fitting room of the store where she worked in the São José neighborhood. She worked cleaning the trade when, according to the police, her ex-husband, aged 29, entered the establishment and attacked her. About 45 days before, the victim had separated from the aggressor, who did not accept the end of the 14-year relationship. The woman no longer lived with her ex-husband. At the time of the crime, according to the victim’s boss, only they were at the scene. The ex-husband invaded the establishment and asked the businesswoman not to react because, otherwise, she would also be killed. He then took the victim into the dressing room, where he stabbed Sabrine three times in the chest and once in the head. He was arrested by the police.

- Empty and unprotected facilities – homes and offices – are also the constant target of burglars.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers.
- In case of robbery: cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as he or she might not be alone or turn violent.
- Avoid walking alone in poorly lit areas or beaches after nightfall.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
