03/07/2025 – On Thursday (03/07), Civil Police, coordinated by Delegates Dr. Pedro Emílio and Dr. Victor Azevedo, arrested a couple in the Lagomar neighborhood for drug trafficking and involvement with the Comando Vermelho faction. The man initially fled when police approached but was quickly surrounded and captured. At the station, both confirmed their roles in trafficking as a “vapor” (seller) and a lookout, respectively. Police also seized cocaine, marijuana, and crack from the duo.
07/07/2025 – On Monday (07/07), Military Police arrested two men in Favela da Linha as part of an anti-drug trafficking operation. Officers observed them exchanging packages suspiciously; one man then climbed onto a roof and stashed a clear plastic bag. Police approached, finding R$30.00 in cash on one suspect. On the roof, agents recovered 22 marijuana sachets and a baggie containing a crack cocaine rock. Both men were taken to the 123rd Police Station, where they were formally charged and remained in custody.

08/07/2025 – On Tuesday (08/07), outsourced Petrobras employees protested in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, in front of the Cabiúnas Natural Gas Processing Terminal. The demonstration was due to delayed payment of salaries and benefits by the contractor, LCD, which failed to honor a regularization agreement. The Norte Fluminense Oil Workers Union is monitoring the situation, while Petrobras is seeking solutions, including new bidding processes, to address the issue.
09/07/2025 – On Wednesday (09/07), two minors were apprehended by Military Police during a routine patrol in the Visconde neighborhood. Agents noticed two individuals acting suspiciously who attempted to conceal something upon seeing the police vehicle. During the approach, officers found a replica Glock pistol with one of the minors.
14/07/2025 – Last weekend, in Macaé’s Favela da Linha, a man was arrested by Military Police for drug trafficking. Officers on routine patrol observed him acting suspiciously. Upon approach, they found two crack rocks, R$680, and a cell phone on him, leading to a sweep where 37 more crack rocks were found nearby. He denied ownership but was detained and taken to the 123rd Police Station due to the identical drugs.
16/07/2025 – On Wednesday (16/07), in Macaé’s Aroeira neighborhood, a man was arrested for drug trafficking during an intelligence operation by the Reserved Service at “Boca da Escadinha”. Officers observed the suspect acting suspiciously; he then ducked, fumbled with a bag, and tried to flee, but was apprehended. Police found 59 cocaine packets, one marijuana sachet, and R$270 in cash on him. The suspect and seized materials were taken to the 123rd Police Station.
16/07/2025 – On Wednesday (16/07), Procon Macaé issued an urgent warning regarding a scam involving fake emails impersonating the consumer protection agency in the municipality. These fraudulent messages, sent to deceive consumers, contain malicious links or request personal information, which Procon Macaé explicitly states it never does. The agency advises recipients of suspicious emails not to click on any content but instead to verify communications through official channels. 21/07/2025 – On Monday (21/07), Isac da Silva Campos, 30, who had been wanted since 2020 by Espírito Santo authorities, was arrested in Macaé by Rio de Janeiro’s Penal Police Recapture Division, in coordination with Espírito Santo officers. Isac had escaped from the prison in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim during a breakout that involved overpowering guards. Convicted of aggravated robbery resulting in death, he had been sentenced to over 16 years in prison and had been living in Macaé since the escape. He was apprehended without resistance on Avenida Papa João XXIII.
23/07/2025 – On Wednesday (23/07), security agents from the Segurança Presente program seized drugs near the Favela da Linha during a routine patrol. Acting on a tip about a man in a blue hoodie and cap hiding drugs under an inverted sign, the agents searched the area and found 26 vials of cocaine and 66 rocks of crack. The suspect was not located.
27/07/2025 – On Sunday (27/07), a homeless woman stabbed her partner during an argument in Praça Veríssimo de Melo, downtown Macaé. The couple, both living on the streets, were already known in the area for frequent disputes. The victim was taken to the hospital due to the severity of the injury. The woman was arrested at the scene. She is being charged with attempted homicide.

- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista, Cavaleiros, Glória and the central area.
- As risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas due to gang presence,
- avoid: Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana, Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto, and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros).
- When going to and leaving Vale Encantado, never walk, call a licensed taxi, or use a company-approved ride-sharing App.
- In any situation, avoid waiting on the sidewalk. If you call a taxi, for instance, wait inside a building and only leave when the car arrives.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
- Attention to scams that may reach you through a WhatsApp message, e-mail, SMS, or a call.
