05/06/2022 – The Federal Police (PF) carried out a joint action with the Federal Revenue Service and seized 71 kg of cocaine in the Port of Santos. The drug was inside a refrigerated container. According to the PF, the container was selected by the Risk Management Area of the Federal Revenue Service.

07/06/2022 – Two criminals died after trying to rob a truck driver on Avenida Alfredo das Neves, in the Alemoa neighborhood. A third robber was injured and managed to escape. The truck driver was also injured. The Military Police (PM) was called and a shooting took place.
13/06/2022 – A video from a security camera recorded the moment when three women stole a stationery store in the Gonzaga neighborhood. They took three backpacks, causing a loss of R$700. From the images, it is possible to see the moment when the trio selects the backpacks and hides them inside the bags they were carrying. According to an employee, the action was quick and lasted about four minutes.
18/06/2022 – An armed man robbed a convenience store on Avenida Nossa Senhora de Fátima, in the Chico de Paula neighborhood. The crime happened at night and was recorded by the establishment’s security cameras. An employee who was at the cashier was approached by the armed criminal. He stole R$100 and five packs of cigarettes.
19/06/2022 – A couple was approached by five armed criminals at the door of a motel in Vila Matias and had their car and cell phone stolen. According to the incident report, the man, who was in the driver’s seat, went to lower the car window to give his documents to the motel employee, when he was surprised by two men who started screaming demanding that the couple get out of the vehicle and leave all belongings.
23/06/2022 – The Federal Police (PF) seized more than 500 kilos of cocaine in the Port of Santos. To remove the drug, which was hidden in rolls of paper, it was necessary to use a chainsaw. According to the PF, the drug was found during routine surveillance work by Santos Customs teams. The cargo would go to the port of Antwerp, Belgium.
24/06/2022 – A man stole the bicycle of a bakery employee located in the Boqueirão neighborhood. The man went to the establishment asking for water and took advantage of the employee’s distraction to steal the bike. The criminal fled.
24/06/2022 – A man was arrested by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) after stealing a gold chain in the Boqueirão neighborhood. Officers were alerted by a teenager. He had the necklace taken from his neck by a thief who fled on a bicycle. While on patrol, the thief was found on Rua Acácio Nogueira.
TRENDS & ADVICE
- Be cautious when in the vicinity of Embaré, Ponto da Praia, Campo Grande, Rádio Clube, Downtown and Estuário.
- Never visit neighborhoods on the hills, such as Morro de São Bento, Jabaquara, Saboo and others.
- The waterfront has many incidents of opportunistic thefts, never display wealth and avoid walks there during the night.
- Residences in the of Pompeia, Gonzaga, Boqueirão, Embaré, Aparecida, Estuário and Ponta da Praia are frequently targeted by thieves. Make sure your building is well protected.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, mobile phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers if attacked.
- In case of robbery: cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as they might be armed or resort to violence.
- In case of kidnapping:
- Cooperate in order to mitigate the risk of violence, and do not lie or provide false information to your kidnappers.
- Bear in mind that the vast majority of kidnappings are financially motivated, and that negotiation may be lengthy.
