28/03/2024 – Civil Police caught in the act a suspect of selling drugs in Sol e Mar, South Macaé. The detectives were investigating a case when they noticed the suspect selling drugs on the square of the CRIAAD, a center where delinquent teenagers can reinsert. During the review of the suspect, the cops found cocaine and cash.

30/03/2024 – The Police seized an important quantity of drugs in Novo Cavaleiros, South Macaé. According to the Police, the operation was launched on a denouncement call about a house storing drugs. After a detailed search of the area, the cops found and seized an important quantity of various drugs (cocaine, crack, cannabis, hashish, and skunk). Nobody was arrested.
07/04/2024 – Police seized drugs during an operation in Lagomar, East Macaé. The operation was launched in a joint action between the local battalion (32BPM) and the K-9 Battalion (BAC). The officers invaded a slum. After a sharp review, the cops found cocaine, estimated to be worth more than R$ 80,000.
08/04/2024 – Three bandits were arrested after robbing a cell phone in Cavaleiros, South Macaé. The owner stopped a routine patrol passing by the area and told them about the crime. He also told the officers he was geo-localizing his phone. With this information, the cops went to the point where the cell phone was supposedly located. They found the three suspects who were immediately recognized by the victim.
12/04/2024 – On Friday (12/04), a 34-year-old man tried to rape a woman inside a car in a bush, in the Horto neighborhood, in Macaé. The woman got into a physical fight with the suspect, broke the car key, and managed to flee the scene. Civil Police officers arrested the suspect on the same day, on suspicion of the crimes of false imprisonment and attempted rape.
19/04/2024 – Workers from Gran Services, an offshore company that provides services to Petrobras in Macaé opted to halt their activities after pointing out a series of irregularities committed by the company. The measure, which will affect land operations and in offshore platforms, including the UMMA-P43 unit, began on Tuesday (16/04) with a protest in front of the company’s headquarters. Workers’ demands range from health benefits to wage policies.
22/04/2024 – A 56-year-old man harassed a woman at a bus stop near RJ-162, in Macaé, on Saturday night (20/04). According to information from the Military Police, the victim called the agents and reported that the individual had grabbed her breasts and tried to kiss her. To defend herself, she had to push him. After searching the area, the suspect was located and arrested.
23/04/2024 – Two girls fought in Praia dos Cavaleiros after an argument. Both were later detained by police.

- After dark, avoid Glória and the Centro (Downtown).
- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Parque Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be careful when walking downtown, avoid exposing valuables.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
