The Madonna concert on Copacabana Beach on Saturday (04/05) drew an audience of 1.6 million people to the beach. Considering it a success, the state government released a summary of the event on Monday.
Reduction in Crime
According to the Civil Police, there was a 400% reduction in the number of violent crimes — such as robbery — about the Alok concert, held at the same location, Posto 2, in August 2023.
Innovation
For the Secretary of Public Security, Victor César dos Santos, the innovation for this event was the use of groups of police officers moving through the crowd, as happens during the Bahia carnival. There were several patrols of around 20 police officers per group as an inhibitor of trawlers.
