27/12/2024 – The image of the Baby Jesus, which was part of a traditional nativity scene set up in front of the Parish of Our Lady of Consolation, Downtown, was stolen on Friday (27/12). A security camera recorded the crime. In the images, it is possible to see when a boy entered the place of the nativity scene. He took the image of the Baby Jesus and left with it wrapped in a jacket.

28/12/2024 – A 39-year-old man and his 9-year-old son were murdered on Saturday afternoon (28/12) on Maria Vicente de Azevedo Street, in Rio Pequeno, West Zone. According to information from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP), both were sitting on the sidewalk, in front of the family’s home, when a motorcycle with two people passed by shooting toward the victims.
30/12/2024 – Three people were shot on Monday morning (30/12) inside a bus on Avenida Nossa Senhora do Sabará, South Zone, after an off-duty military police officer was attacked with a knife by a passenger. The police report points out that the man with the knife tried to take the gun from the police officer, who retaliated, firing several shots at the suspect. In the shooting, the aggressor was hit in the arm and two other passengers were also shot.
01/01/2025 – An attempted theft on Rua das Palmeiras, in Santa Cecília, Central Zone, ended in a police chase in the early hours of Wednesday (01/01). The chase involved several police vehicles and ended on Marginal Pinheiros, South Zone when the criminals’ car ran out of gasoline. The three men who were in the vehicle were arrested. According to the Public Security Secretariat, the car was stolen, and the license plate had been changed.
01/01/2025 – A 9-year-old boy was hit by a stray bullet in the back of the head during the New Year’s Eve celebration in the region of São Mateus, East Zone, on Wednesday (01/01), just after midnight. Minutes before being shot, the child was with his family watching the fireworks.
