The city of Rio de Janeiro had a case of death by dengue fever confirmed this year: a 38 -year -old man, a resident of Campo Grande, in the West Zone, who was hospitalized at the Hospital dos Servidores. Another suspected death is investigated. The information is from the Secretary of Health, Daniel Soranz.

According to Soranz, some areas of the city have an infestation rate for the expected mosquito. Campo Grande and Santa Cruz, in the West Zone, and the Center region are concerned, according to him. From this index that was raised in the visit to the households, the plant vases remain the main place of water. And the second biggest problem is the fixed water gutters and deposits.
2024
Last year, the city of Rio had a dengue epidemic, with 111,000 confirmed cases of the disease. There were 21 dengue deaths last year.
Vaccine
The city has made available vaccines for children from 10 to 14 years, parents have until the 31st to take their children. The city expects 100,000 children to take the second dose. The interval between the first and second dose is three months.
