New Infogripe bulletin released by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) on Wednesday (23/11) showed that 15 Brazilian states recorded an increase in serious cases of Covid-19. The survey is based on the last six weeks, which represents a long-term trend. The growth in the number of people infected with the virus also reached 17 Brazilian capitals and has already appeared in all regions of the country.
Elderly Are the Marjority
Most of those infected are adults over 60. Among all the diagnoses of respiratory diseases, the coronavirus corresponds to 61% of the positive results in the last four weeks – in the last Fiocruz bulletin, last week, this percentage was 47%.
States and Capitals
Next, the states that recorded growth in cases of Covid-19, according to Fiocruz’s bulletin: Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Federal District, Goiás, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Pará, Paraíba, Piauí, Rio Grande do Norte , Rio de Janeiro, Roraima, Santa Catarina and São Paulo.
In addition to the 15 state, in 17 capitals Covid-19 cases increased as well: Aracaju (SE), Belém (PA), Brasília (DF), Campo Grande (MS), Curitiba (PR), Florianópolis (SC), Fortaleza (CE), Goiânia (GO), João Pessoa (PB), Maceió (AL), Natal (RN), Recife (PE), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Salvador (BA), São Luís (MA), São Paulo (SP) and Teresa (PI).
