SÃO PAULO SECURITY INCIDENTS – 3RD BULLETIN OF DECEMBER

Every hour and a half, a cargo robbery takes place in the State of São Paulo. There are 17 events per day, 525 per month and from January to September 4725 occurrences have already been registered. The data are from the Tracker-Fecap Bulletin, which has just been released. There was a 2% increase in this type of crime in the first nine months of the year, compared to the same period last year. May and July concentrated the biggest increases (11% and 10%, respectively), compared to the same periods in 2021. The types of cargo most targeted by criminals are food (23.58%), cigarettes (8.79%), electronics (5.20%), beverages (4.70%), medicines and perfumes (4.38%). The capital of São Paulo was the city with the highest number of occurrences, 44.52% of the total.
