During the past week, the Health Secretaries National Council (Conass) did not update the Covid cases and deaths in Brazil. According to the latest information released, regarding the 240th (18 to 24 August) epidemiological week, the number of new COVID-19 confirmed cases in Brazil increased by 360.20% when compared to the 239th (11 to 17 August) week. In terms of deaths of patients with Covid-19, cases increased by 1.47%.

According to the latest information released by the Brazilian Health Ministry webpage, on Monday (16/09) at 6h02, 167 million second doses, and 5.028 million single doses have been given. The results show that a total of 84.94% of people were fully vaccinated. Brazil has approximately 203 million citizens, according to IBGE.
