According to data released by the Health Secretaries National Council (Conass) and the Health Ministry, during the 168th (19 to 25 March) epidemiological week, the number of new Covid-19 confirmed cases in Brazil increased by 12.23% when compared to the 167th (12 February to 18 March) week. In terms of deaths of patients with Covid-19, a 13.78% increase was registered while compared to the 167th week.
According to the latest information released by the Our World in Data webpage, data corresponding to the Brazil’s vaccination progress has not been updated since 19 March. The last update informs that Brazil has 176.16 million people fully vaccinated or 81.82% of its total population. Brazil has approximately 212 million citizens, according to IBGE.
