On Thursday (11/08), left-wing social movements promoted marches and demonstrations against the current Federal Government in the 27 capitals. Two manifestos in defense of the democratic rule of law and the Brazilian electoral system were read.
The Movement
The movement was led by two groups, each one release a letter to support the democratic system. One document was written by former USP students, and the other by the Federação das Indústrias de São Paulo (Fiesp). Both were officially read this morning at the University of São Paulo Law School (USP), in downtown São Paulo. Influent businessmen, artists, jurists and representatives of entities were present.
Consecutive Criticisms by President Bolsonaro
The acts occur after consecutive criticisms made by the President against the electronic voting machines and the electoral system. Even though no evidence has been presented, President Bolsonaro has insisted for months on the theory that there is a risk of fraud in the voting system.
Acts in September
There more acts scheduled for September 7th and 10th; however, locations and time still have to be defined.
