NAV Brasil workers, a state-owned company responsible for air control at some of the country’s largest airports, decided to cancel the strike scheduled for Monday (09/10), following a court order.

Strike Announcement
Flight controllers had announced that the strike would take place on 9 October, but they changed their minds on Friday (06/10), due to a Labor Court’s decision that approved a daily fine of R$100,000 if the strike had taken place.
Important Airports Affected
The strike could have affected 43 airports in the country, among them Guarulhos, in Greater São Paulo; Viracopos, in Campinas; Santos Dumont, in Rio de Janeiro; and Pampulha, in Belo Horizonte.
Demands
The strike had been approved in a virtual assembly last week. 64.5% of the 1,105 participating workers were in favor. The employees asked for salary recovery and additional payments, among other labor demands.
