A Datafolha survey published by the newspaper Folha de S.Paulo on 28 October revealed that 24% of Brazilians say they do not have enough food at home to feed their families.
Improvement
The data show that the share of Brazilians who assess the amount of food in their homes as insufficient in recent months has fallen, while the share who assesses that it was more than enough has been growing.
In all, 24% responded that they did not have the amount of food they needed (27% in September). The majority, 56%, stated that they have enough food (up from 57% in September). And 20% said they have more than enough (up from 16% in September) — the indicator is the highest in the series, which started in May 2021.
The survey heard 4,580 people, between 25 and 27 October, in 252 cities. The margin of error is plus or minus 2 percentage points, within the 95% confidence level.
