On Monday (31/11), in the first stock market session after the victory of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in the presidential race, there was strong volatility, but the commercial dollar ended up dropping sharply – the dollar fell 2.55% to R$5.1654 –, and the stock exchange closed with a positive result, Ibovespa rose 1.31% to 116,037 points.
According to market analysts, the fact that the polls result was not contested by the current government and the expectation that liberal economists may participate in the transition contributed to the results.
The real was the currency with the highest appreciation globally, according to Bloomberg data. During the rest of the week, positive results remained to be recorded. This Monday (07/11), the dollar is worth around R$ 5.07.
