Angra dos Reis is on the list of the five cities that most register energy theft among the 66 cities in the state of Rio de Janeiro served by Enel. The city is behind only Magé, São Gonçalo, Araruama and Cabo Frio. According to the company, from January to November last year, energy losses in Angra were 24.1%. To measure the challenge faced by Enel Rio in the fight against energy theft, 15% of the distributor’s total customer base is in areas with severe operational restrictions. These risk areas are responsible for more than 20% of the total losses recorded by Enel Rio.

06/01/2025 – A bandit known as “Corola”, was arrested on Monday (06/01), on Rua Hipólito Travassos, in Frade, during an operation triggered by the reserved service of the 33rd BPM. According to the police, he is responsible for the criminal attack that set fire to the cars of the city’s telecommunications company, in October 2024. With him, 457 cocaine pins, a 9mm caliber pistol with ammunition, and a cell phone were seized.
06/01/2025 – Agents of the Intelligence team of the 33rd BPM arrested a fugitive from justice at the city’s anniversary concert, in Praia do Anil, in the early hours of Monday (06/01). The agents were on the trail of the suspect, alias “Mão de Ferro”, who was hiding in Casinhas do Bracuí. According to the Corporation, in addition to hiding in the neighborhood, he belongs to the criminal organization Red Command (CV) and was managing the local drug trafficking.
