Military Police officers secured the crime scene for forensic inspection, which confirmed the cause of death before the victim’s body was transferred to the local Legal Medical Institute (IML). The Military Police intelligence sector identified a suspect involved in the stabbing, while the Police District registered the homicide and initiated investigations to locate the perpetrator and clarify the motive.

07/09/2026 – On Monday (7), a 52-year-old man was stabbed in the neck following an argument inside a residence in the Japuíba neighborhood. After the attack, the injured victim fled the residence to seek assistance at a nearby commercial establishment, where SAMU paramedics rendered first aid before transporting him to the Japuíba Municipal Hospital for emergency medical treatment. Officers from the Military Police responded to the scene, and the Police District subsequently opened an investigation to identify and locate the fleeing assailant.
08/09/2026 – On Tuesday (8), three unidentified assailants opened fire on Rua das Flores in the Parque Mambucaba neighborhood, killing one man and wounding two others. Local residents transported the two surviving victims to a nearby emergency care unit (UPA), before one of them was transferred to the Praia Brava Hospital to treat gunshot wounds to the leg and abdomen. Crime scene investigators gathered evidence on-site and transferred the deceased victim to the Angra dos Reis Legal Medical Institute (IML) for forensic examination. The 166th Police District opened a homicide investigation to identify the gunmen and determine the motive behind the attack, with no arrests reported.
08/09/2026 – On Tuesday (8), a dispute between students inside a public transit bus traveling through the Encruzo da Enseada neighborhood resulted in one teenager inflicting a minor wound on another using a pair of school scissors. The altercation forced the driver to halt the vehicle, leading passengers to disembark while SAMU paramedics, Military Police officers, and Guardianship Council (Conselho Tutelar) representatives responded to the scene.
08/09/2026 – On Tuesday (8), police officers arrested a 39-year-old suspect at the bus station in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, concluding a joint investigation by the 166th Police District and the 33rd Military Police Battalion (“Operação SICÁRIO”). The man had fled the state after committing two knife attacks over the holiday weekend in the city: stabbing a 32-year-old man to death in the Areal neighborhood on Sunday (6) over a R$ 20 drug debt, and stabbing a 52-year-old man in the neck in Japuíba on Monday (7) during an argument. Officers transferred the suspect back to Angra, where he was formally booked for qualified murder and attempted murder stemming from trivial motives.
09/09/2026 – On Wednesday (9), a 25-year-old man kidnapped a 26-year-old sex worker in downtown Angra, driving her to Rua da Torre in Sapinhatuba III, where he forced her to transfer R$ 3,200 via Pix. He then stabbed her, applied a chokehold, and attempted to strangle her with a rope before she fought back and escaped to receive care at Japuíba Municipal Hospital. Following a joint operation between the Deam and Military Police, officers apprehended the injured suspect right near the hospital where the victim was being treated, booking him for attempted femicide, rape, extortion, and robbery.
09/09/2026 – On Wednesday (9), a 46-year-old man was stabbed in the chest during a jealousy-fueled argument on Morro do Moreno. The altercation began after the victim claimed to the suspect that the suspect’s female partner had been flirting with him, offering mobile phone messages as proof. Enraged, the perpetrator attacked the man with a knife before Military Police officers apprehended the barefoot, injured suspect nearby and rushed the victim to the Hospital for ongoing emergency care.
