16/07/2026 – On Thursday (16), police officers arrested three men during an anti-drug operation in the Japuíba neighborhood. Joint teams from the 33rd BPM seized nearly R$ 8,000 worth of narcotics and radio equipment before discovering that one of the fleeing suspects had four outstanding arrest warrants for robbery and extortion issued by the Teresópolis judiciary. All three individuals, identified as local Comando Vermelho operatives and an associate who had relocated from Rio de Janeiro’s Complexo da Penha, were taken into custody at the 166th DP.

17/07/2026 – On Friday (17), a 20-year-old man was executed following an internal dispute within the Comando Vermelho drug cartel in the Frade neighborhood. Joint intelligence and field operations led by the 166th DP and the 33rd BPM resulted in the swift arrest of two local faction members who disarmed the victim prior to the home-invasion shooting ordered by the neighborhood’s drug kingpin. Police booked both suspects for aggravated murder and drug association while ongoing operations target the shooters and the mastermind behind the attack.
20/07/2026 – On Monday afternoon (20), a 17-year-old youth was apprehended for the seventh time in less than a year in the Japuíba and Campo Belo areas. Detectives from the 166th DP executed an arrest warrant outside the local courthouse, where the teenager was heading after learning police were searching for him. Possessing an extensive juvenile record involving drug trafficking infractions, with six prior detentions in 2026 alone, the minor was taken into custody to await proceedings under the Statute of the Child and Adolescent.
21/07/2026 – On Tuesday (21), Civil Police officers executed an operation at Morro da Fortaleza, arresting two adult men and detaining a 16-year-old minor. Operating at a Comando Vermelho drug spot in “Beco do Bar da Maria,” the trio was caught selling narcotics while utilizing two-way radios to monitor police movements. Notably, the 16-year-old offender missed a scheduled court hearing earlier that same afternoon at 14:00, only to be apprehended hours later while actively selling drugs. Officers seized marijuana, cocaine, crack, cash, radios, and ledger notebooks during the raid.
