17/10/2024 – Aterro do Carmo once again received the presence of “flanelinhas” (illegal car keepers) who act freely, intimidating and extorting residents and tourists. Reports received by the local press on Thursday (17/10), indicate that, when trying to leave the vehicle in the area, visitors are approached aggressively by individuals who pose as guards, demanding payment for supposed protection. Many feel pressured to pay, even without security guarantees.

20/10/2024 – Military police officers of the 33BPM apprehended on Sunday afternoon (20/10), a teenage offender, for the crime of drug trafficking during a routine patrol in Japuíba. On approach, the police found the teenager 50 cocaine pins, 14 strips of weed, and R$ 20 in cash.
22/10/2024 – In the early hours of Tuesday (22/10), criminals set fire to three cars of an internet and cable TV operator, parked in front of the company’s service unit in Frade. The case is being investigated by the police, but there are already suspicions that the attacks were ordered by pirate companies linked to criminal groups that operate in the region, such as narco-militia.
