27/10/2025 – On Monday (27), police from the 166th DP arrested a 24-year-old man in the Bracuí community during another phase of Operation Arrasto, aimed at combating drug trafficking in Angra dos Reis. Officers spotted him carrying a radio transmitter used to alert dealers about police presence. He tried to flee but was quickly captured. The man admitted to working as a “lookout” and was already known to authorities — he had been arrested for the same offense on October 16 and released two days later after a custody hearing. Less than two weeks after his release, he was caught again and charged with drug trafficking.

28/10/2025 – On Tuesday (28), security forces launched a large-scale preventive operation in Angra dos Reis to block the entry of criminals fleeing police actions in Rio de Janeiro. Starting at 15:00, teams from various law enforcement agencies began monitoring all access routes and local communities as part of the “Cerco Integrado” operation, which will remain active indefinitely. Authorities reported that some suspects connected to drug trafficking abandoned plans to enter the city after learning of the operation. Residents expressed concern that criminal groups, especially linked to the Comando Vermelho, could attempt to relocate to Angra, recalling similar migrations that followed the installation of UPPs in Rio’s favelas in 2014.
