The MovRio Institute released crime data in Angra dos Reis. According to the agency, in the period between the 1 and 30 April 2023, 46 complaints were registered about crimes and administrative irregularities in the city: 12 of them denouncing drug trafficking. Still according to MovRio, the neighborhoods with the highest incidence of reports of drug trafficking were Parque Mambucaba, Bracuí, Frade and Jacuecanga. In second position, the report points to the crime of air pollution, with five complaints, followed by mistreatment of animals, in third place, with four complaints. Of the 46 complaints received, 19 were made through the DisqueDenúncia RJ app and 27 through the telephone number 0300 253-1177.
08/05/2023 – A 39-year-old man was arrested for being the manager of drug trafficking in the Lambicada and Parque Mambucaba neighborhoods. He was found in a location known as “predinhos do Belém”, after information about his whereabouts was passed to the DisqueDenúncia. The man was on the run for drug trafficking and qualified homicide. When the officers arrived at the place where he was hiding, the criminal tried to flee, but was arrested.
09/05/2023 – The Military Police (PM) carried out an operation against organized crime in downtown Angra dos Reis. The action took place in the hills of Glória 1, Glória 2, Peres and Carmo. According to the PM, the objective of the operation is to arrest criminals, as well as to seize drugs, weapons, and other materials. With the support of the Municipal Guard, the police also seeks to remove robbed and stolen vehicles from circulation.
