27/05/2023 – A businessman was shot after reacting to a robbery on Ilha Grande. The crime took place in a vacation rental house in Praia da Longa. According to the Civil Police, three armed criminals invaded the property and surrendered guests – about 15 people, including adults and children. They trapped the victims in a room and demanded cell phones, money, and jewelry. During the threats, some of the hostages reacted and got into a physical fight with one of the bandits. At this time, the thief shot one of the guests, he was hit by eight shots in the back. The criminals fled with the victims’ belongings.
30/05/2023 – The Federal Police fulfilled two search and seizure warrants during an operation carried out in 17 states and in the Federal District against bank fraud in electronic accounts. In Angra, a computer cabinet, a laptop, two cell phones, three pen drives and documents were seized at the home of two people. This is the second phase of the “Don’t Be an Orange” operation, which investigates people who would have given up their personal accounts to receive money resulting from scams and fraud against bank customers.
