01/11/2022 – Drug traffickers had a shooting with the military police on Rua Salomão Reseck, in Morro da Caixa D’água. According to the Disque Denúncia, criminals had installed cameras at strategic points to monitor the entry of officers into the location. As a result, the police went to the address. As soon as the officers arrived, they were shot at. The criminals fled towards a wooded area. Nobody was hurt. The cameras were located and seized by the police.

08/11/2022 – One man died and another, aged 25, was shot during a shooting between criminals involved in drug trafficking and military police in the Lambicada neighborhood. According to the Military Police, officers were patrolling the place when they were shot and retaliated. At the end of the shooting, the PM found the man already dead and the other wounded. With them, two guns, two grenades and 13 ammunition were found.
09/11/2022 – A man involved with drug trafficking died in a shooting with military police in Morro do Santo Antônio. Officers arrived at the address after reports that men were selling drugs there. They were shot at and retaliated. A revolver, crack, cocaine, a grenade, and ammunition were seized.
13/11/2022 – Two men with involvement in drug trafficking died in a shooting with the military police on Avenida Prefeito João Gregório Galindo, near Morro da Glória 2. The Military Police went to the address to make a routine patrol. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were shot and retaliated. With the criminals were found two weapons, a magazine, a radio communicator, drugs, and ammunition.
14/11/2022 – A shooting between criminals with involvement in drug trafficking and military police ended with two men dead on Rua Morro da Caixa D’Água, in Morro da Caixa D’Água. According to the PM, officers were on patrol around the place when they were shot and retaliated. The action also resulted in the seizure of a rifle, a pistol, cocaine and marijuana.
21/11/2022 – A man involved in drug trafficking was shot in a shooting with the Military Police in Morro do Santo Antônio. The Military Police went to the address to make a routine patrol. Upon arriving at the scene, officers were met with gunfire and retaliated. At the end of the shooting, the criminals fled through nearby streets. During a search of the place, the PM found am injured criminal. With the criminal, the police found a gun, ammunition, a radio communicator and drugs.
22/11/2022 – A shooting between military police and criminals took place in the Japuíba neighborhood. According to the Military Police, officers were patrolling a forested area when they were shot and retaliated. During the confrontation, the criminals fled.
TRENDS & ADVICE
- Shootouts remain the main risk facing personnel in Angra dos Reis. Several security operations related to drug trafficking were also registered this month.
- In the case of being in the immediate vicinity of a shootout:
- Lay on the ground and seek cover.
- When it is safe to do so, find the nearest building, stay away from windows, do not move until the gunfire has clearly ended.
- Be cautious when in the vicinity of ‘communities’, particularly: Downtown, Parque Belém, Sapinhatuba I, Sapinhatuba II, Sapinhatuba III, Areal, Parque Mambucaba and Morro da Glória.
- Avoid stopping on BR-101 roadside, due to cases of robberies, especially in the most isolated areas.
- After nightfall, avoid circulating on the BR-101, due to the increased risk of robbery and assault.
