07/12/2022 – The 16-year-old shooter who invaded two schools in Aracruz, carrying out shooting attacks that caused the death of four people and left another 12 injured on Friday, November 25th, was judged by the Municipality’s Child and Youth Court and had the sentence released this Wednesday (07).
23/12/2022 – The Federal Highway Police (PRF) recovered a stolen vehicle in Rio de Janeiro that was driving along BR 101, in Aracruz. With the driver, a 9mm pistol loaded with 18 ammunition was found, in addition to a reserve charger with 17 more ammunition. The approach took place during the inspection of the PRF’s Christmas Operation. The police realized that the license plate used contained evidence of forgery. Consulting the identification elements, the PRF discovered that the car had a false license plate and that, for the original, there was a record of theft.

- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers.
- In case of robbery: cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as he or she might not be alone or turn violent.
- Avoid walking alone in poorly lit areas or beaches after nightfall.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
