06/02/2023 – A man died after being stabbed in the chest during a fight caused by loud music at a snack bar in Aracruz, in the north of Espírito Santo. The suspect is the uncle of the victim, who lives on the second floor of the establishment. The uncle was arrested by the police.
11/02/2023 – A 16-year-old teenager lost sight in one eye after being shot at the exit of the state school Mizael Pinto Neto, in the center of Aracruz on Thursday (9). The shooter is a classmate of the teenager and, according to witnesses, the motivation for the crime would have been a rumor that began to circulate at school.
02/02/2023 – A 28-year-old motorcycle courier was shot in the head in Praiamar, Serra. The criminal still fled taking the victim’s motorcycle. Residents were desperate to see the body lying in the middle of the street. Some residents said that the neighborhood is quiet and, therefore, they were scared by the crime.
28/02/2023 – A 25-year-old young man was arrested for attempted murder in the Polivalente neighborhood, in Aracruz, on Monday (27). According to the Civil Police, the suspect is being investigated for a crime that occurred on May 28 last year, in the Nova Conquista neighborhood, also in Aracruz.

- In terms of property crimes, even though scams and frauds are the most common, pedestrian robberies are the most concerning type of crime, due to frequency and potential consequences.
- The most critical period of the day is from 18:00 to 23:00, whe most robberies happen.
- The urbanized areas are the most targeted: Centro, Bela Vista, Vila Nova, Barra do Sahy, and Jacupemba.
- During the holidays and Summer season, incidents are likely to increase, since the influx of tourists attracts more petty crimes.
- Empty and unprotected facilities – homes and offices – are also the constant target of burglars.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers.
- In case of robbery: cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as he or she might not be alone or turn violent.
- Avoid walking alone in poorly lit areas or beaches after nightfall.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
