03/08/2025 – On Sunday (03), a Civil Police officer drove his SUV into a music venue in the Cidade Velha neighborhood after being expelled for alleged sexual harassment. He reportedly attempted to run over people outside the venue, causing widespread panic. 06/08/2025 – On Wednesday (06), a young man known as ‘Molequinho’ was shot dead in the Marambaia neighborhood. He was ambushed by two men on a motorcycle near the Canal Água Cristal and shot in the head. Residents called for help after hearing the gunshots and finding the victim lying in the street. Emergency responders confirmed his death at the scene. The Scientific Police collected shell casings, and the Civil Police are investigating the case.
06/08/2025 – On Wednesday (06), a man was arrested in Belém, for “sextortion”—a crime that combines extortion and the possession of pornographic material involving minors. The investigation began after a 16-year-old girl filed a complaint, stating that the suspect demanded R$600 to prevent the dissemination of intimate images of herself and a 17-year-old male friend. The victims paid the money via a bank transfer to a third party, a tactic the accused used to mask his identity. Police also discovered that the man had been involved in similar cases in 2022 and 2024. The case is even more serious because one of the victims reportedly attempted suicide due to the blackmail. During his arrest, police seized his cell phone and laptop for analysis.

09/08/2025 – On Saturday (09), two armed robbers targeted a car dealership on Rua dos Mundurucus, between Travessa dos Apinagés and Travessa Padre Eutíquio, in the Batista Campos neighborhood. Security footage shows them entering around 11:34 a.m., each carrying a revolver, and holding two men and two women at gunpoint. The assailants stole cell phones, necklaces, and other belongings before locking the employees inside a glass room. No physical violence was recorded, but the victims were threatened throughout the robbery. The suspects fled within five minutes.
12/08/2025 – A nursing technician was caught in the act in the São Brás district on Tuesday (12), for illegally selling narcotic and psychotropic drugs without a medical prescription. The Division of Investigation and Special Operations launched the action after complaints from relatives of users who were abusing these substances. The man, who worked at a downtown hospital, used his professional access to sell morphine, haloperidol, and diazepam at prices above market value. These substances, which can cause dependence and be fatal, are normally subject to retained prescription rules. The investigation continues to determine the origin of the drugs and whether other people were involved.
13/08/2025 – A security guard was shot dead in the early hours of Wednesday (13), in the Marambaia district. The victim, who was working in the Euclides Figueiredo complex area, was hit by more than 15 gunshots at the corner of Rua L and Rua D while riding a red motorcycle. Residents, awakened by the gunfire, found him lying lifeless near the curb, with his motorcycle damaged by the fall. The Military Police secured the area, and the Civil Police’s Homicide Division is investigating, having requested forensic examinations and started interviewing witnesses.
13/08/2025 – On Wednesday (13), a man was killed during a police operation in Icoaraci. According to the Military Police, officers from the 10th Battalion were on patrol when they spotted him acting suspiciously near a wooded area. As they approached, he drew a firearm and shot at the officers, who returned fire and struck him. He was taken to a local emergency unit but died from his injuries. 14/08/2025 – On Thursday (14), the Pará Civil Police arrested ten people during “Final Sentence,” part of the national “Shamar” operation to combat violence against women. According to the Military Police, two men on a motorcycle approached while he was with friends, and after engaging in a struggle with one of them, he was shot in the back near the neck. The suspects fled with his gold chain and personal Glock 9mm, leaving behind a magazine with 16 live rounds and one spent cartridge. The officer was rushed to emergency care and later transferred to another hospital, where his condition is stable. Police are working to identify and arrest the assailants.
16/08/2025 – In the early hours of Saturday (16), Military Police in Belém foiled a string of robberies in the Guamá neighborhood, rescuing a ride-hailing driver held hostage by two assailants — one adult and a 17-year-old. After a pursuit that ended near the Canal do Tucunduba, police surrounded the suspects and engaged in a two-hour negotiation involving family members and the press before the pair surrendered. 19/08/2025 – On Tuesday (19), Civil Police seized five clandestine cameras allegedly installed by a criminal faction in the Guamá neighborhood to monitor residents and track police movements near drug-selling points. Three cameras were found on a utility pole and two others on nearby buildings. 26/08/2025 – On Tuesday night (26), a man and his son were robbed by two assailants on a motorcycle as they arrived home on Rua Municipalidade in the Umarizal neighborhood. 26/08/2025 – A man and his son were robbed on Tuesday night (26) in the Umarizal neighborhood, when two armed men on a motorcycle approached them as they arrived home on Rua Municipalidade. Security footage shows the passenger, disguised with a food delivery backpack, getting off the bike, threatening the victims, and taking their belongings before fleeing with his partner. The victims managed to record the motorcycle’s license plate and reported the case to the Civil Police, which is investigating to identify and arrest those involved.
26/08/2025 – Brazil’s Federal Revenue Service seized 457 kilos of skunk, known as “super marijuana,” at the Porto da Estrada do Outeiro in Belém. 28/08/2025 – A man died after a confrontation with Military Police in Vila Nazaré, in the Marambaia neighborhood, on Thursday (28). According to authorities, officers of the 27th Battalion were patrolling suspected drug sale points when they encountered the suspect, who fled and later fired at an officer during a struggle. Police returned fire, fatally wounding him. He was taken to the Metropolitan Emergency Hospital in Ananindeua but did not survive. A .22 caliber revolver, ammunition, and small amounts of cocaine were seized, and the case is under investigation by the Civil Police.
29/08/2025 – A clash between members of rival football supporters groups ended with at least 40 people detained on Friday night (29). The fight broke out around 21:30 at an arena on Avenida José Bonifácio, in the Guamá neighborhood, prompting the deployment of about 12 Military Police vehicles. Officers dispersed the crowd with support from the 37th Battalion, seizing over 20 cell phones (some flagged as stolen) and two knives. 29/08/2025 – Two armed men on a motorcycle robbed a bar and a car wash on Belém Street, in the Parque Verde neighborhood, on Friday night (29). Security cameras captured the action around 21:40, showing the passenger stealing cell phones from customers while the driver pointed a gun at the victims. The robbery lasted only a few minutes before the suspects fled. Reports suggest that they may have committed other robberies in the area. As of Saturday (30), the suspects had not been identified, and the Civil Police stated the case had not yet been formally registered.
31/08/2025 – A man died on Sunday night (31) after a confrontation with the Tactical Ostensive Rounds Battalion (Rotam) in the Jurunas neighborhood. According to the Military Police, he fired at the unit and was shot in the chest, being taken to the Municipal Emergency Hospital Mário Pinotti but did not survive. The police seized a pistol and a magazine with four rounds, which were presented at the Seccional of São Brás. The case is under investigation by the Jurunas Police Station.

- When moving through crowded places and their vicinities, visitors should be cautious and refrain from exposing valuables.
