04/08/2024 – On the morning of Sunday (4), civil police officers from the 123rd Police Station (DP) of Macaé, arrested a 41-year-old man who had an outstanding arrest warrant for the crime of embezzlement. In 2022, the suspect’s company signed several contracts for the sale of digital assets, mainly cryptocurrencies, in Macaé. The deals promised investors a monthly return of 10% on the capital invested, with values ranging between R$ 5,000 and R$ 2 million. However, during the term of the contracts, investors did not receive the promised profits. Those responsible for the scheme tried to deceive the victims with the false promise that another company would take responsibility for the contracts, which never happened. At the beginning of the investigations, it was discovered that the company’s legal representatives fled the city with more than R$ 9 million, resulting from fraudulent negotiations.

05/08/2024 – A woman was arrested on Monday (5) for theft in downtown Macaé. She was located by agents of Segurança Presente, through an anonymous tip. Owner of an extensive criminal record, the woman has several records with the police, such as torture, threats, mistreatment, damage, and theft. The woman was arrested in the act in possession of several stolen items. Among the stolen items were a blender, a laundry detergent, a fabric softener, and nine deodorants.
07/08/2024 – During a routine operation on Avenida 62, in Parque Aeroporto, agents of the Tactical Actions Group (GAT) arrested a suspect linked to the criminal faction Red Command (CV). The individual was detained on Wednesday night (7), after being caught in suspicious behavior during patrol in the region. When approaching him, the police carried out a personal search, finding 15 cocaine pins, totaling 30 grams, a bag of marijuana with 2 grams, in addition to a cell phone, and R$ 20.00 in cash.
08/08/2024 – The Civil Police of Macaé captured on the morning of Thursday (8) a man considered a fugitive from justice. The individual is 33 years old and has been considered a fugitive since 14 October 2021, when he escaped from the prison system after being sentenced to 20 years in prison for homicide. The man was located in the community of Nova Holanda. He was convicted of firing several shots at two victims, one of whom was a 10-year-old child.
