Upon seeing approaching officers, the suspect attempted to hide a bag and flee into a nearby property before being apprehended. Search teams retrieved the discarded bag, finding drug portions labeled with markings linked to a local criminal faction, leading to the suspect’s detainment at the Police District on charges of drug trafficking and criminal association.

09/08/2026 – On Sunday evening (9), in the Horto neighborhood, a family dispute escalated into an attempted homicide involving gunfire and a knife. Military police from the 32nd Battalion responded to the scene and found a man being restrained by relatives after he fired shots at another person during an argument; the victim was not hit. Officers seized a .22-caliber pistol with two rounds, a magazine, and a blood-stained knife used by family members attempting to disarm him. The suspect received medical attention before being taken to the 123rd Police District, where he remains detained on charges of attempted homicide.
10/08/2026 – On Monday (10), in the Malvinas community, a woman was fatally stabbed approximately six times by her 34-year-old ex-partner at her home on Rua Vitória da Conquista. The attack, which occurred in front of the victim’s five children, began in the kitchen and continued into the street before the suspect fled on a bicycle to evade nearby bystanders. Family members rushed the victim to the Macaé Public Hospital, where she was pronounced dead upon arrival. The 32nd Military Police Battalion has launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
13/08/2026 – On Thursday (13), a couple was arrested in flagrante in Macaé after their two-month-old infant was admitted to the pediatric ICU in grave condition with multiple severe injuries. The 123rd Police Station initiated the investigation after being alerted by the Guardianship Council when the parents’ claims (including that the baby accidentally slipped during a diaper change) were deemed incompatible with the physical evidence. Facing contradictory statements regarding prior injuries, authorities arrested both parents.
13/08/2026 – On Thursday (13), civil police arrested a 35-year-old man in the Imboassica neighborhood, following a conviction for statutory rape. Officers from the 128th Police Station (Rio das Ostras) executed the arrest warrant related to sexual abuse committed in 2016 against his 10-year-old cousin. According to investigators, the perpetrator exploited family proximity to monitor the child before being caught by the boy’s mother, leading to the investigation and subsequent criminal conviction.
