01/08/2023 – Three men were arrested with weapons and drugs this Wednesday (01/08) in Macaé. The arrest was carried out by the Military Police, who received information that the elements were moving narcotic material and drug trafficking weapons. They were located on a boat on Avenida Marambaia, in the Nova Holanda community.
09/08/2023 – Civil police officers arrested a woman for drug trafficking, association with drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm on Rua Jorge Ramalho, in the Parque Aeroporto district, following a complaint. During the diligence at the author’s residence, the police found an amount of narcotic material, ammunition and two notebooks containing notes on drug trafficking.
14/08/2023 – A woman was arrested for robbery on the Macaé Boardwalk, in downtown Macaé. The Macaé Security Present team was called by employees of a store who noticed the accused stealing products. The team arrived at the scene and managed to arrest the criminal. With her, several stolen products were seized, including clothes, accessories, and electronics.
22/08/2023 – Three men were arrested for drug trafficking on Rua Margarida da Conceição Santos, in the Bela Vista neighborhood. According to the Military Police, officers received reports that criminals were selling drugs. With them, they found marijuana, cocaine, money and three cell phones.
22/08/2023 – The Municipal Department of Urban Mobility and the Military Police Battalion carried out a traffic control operation at Parque Aeroporto. The operation aimed to reduce vehicle theft, street robbery and other types of crimes. Seven vehicles have been seized.
TRENDS & ADVICE
- After dark, avoid Glória and the Centro (Downtown).
- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Parque Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be careful when walking downtown, avoid exposing valuables.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
