04/08/2024 – On the morning of Sunday (4), civil police officers from the 123rd Police Station (DP) of Macaé, arrested a 41-year-old man who had an outstanding arrest warrant for the crime of embezzlement. In 2022, the suspect’s company signed several contracts for the sale of digital assets, mainly cryptocurrencies, in Macaé. The deals promised investors a monthly return of 10% on the capital invested, with values ranging between R$ 5,000 and R$ 2 million. However, during the term of the contracts, investors did not receive the promised profits. Those responsible for the scheme tried to deceive the victims with the false promise that another company would take responsibility for the contracts, which never happened. At the beginning of the investigations, it was discovered that the company’s legal representatives fled the city with more than R$ 9 million, resulting from fraudulent negotiations.

05/08/2024 – A woman was arrested on Monday (5) for theft in downtown Macaé. She was located by agents of Segurança Presente, through an anonymous tip. Owner of an extensive criminal record, the woman has several records with the police, such as torture, threats, mistreatment, damage, and theft. The woman was arrested in the act in possession of several stolen items. Among the stolen items were a blender, a laundry detergent, a fabric softener, and nine deodorants.
07/08/2024 – During a routine operation on Avenida 62, in Parque Aeroporto, agents of the Tactical Actions Group (GAT) arrested a suspect linked to the criminal faction Red Command (CV). The individual was detained on Wednesday night (7), after being caught in suspicious behavior during patrol in the region. When approaching him, the police carried out a personal search, finding 15 cocaine pins, totaling 30 grams, a bag of marijuana with 2 grams, in addition to a cell phone, and R$ 20.00 in cash.
08/08/2024 – The Civil Police of Macaé captured on the morning of Thursday (8) a man considered a fugitive from justice. The individual is 33 years old and has been considered a fugitive since 14 October 2021, when he escaped from the prison system after being sentenced to 20 years in prison for homicide. The man was located in the community of Nova Holanda. He was convicted of firing several shots at two victims, one of whom was a 10-year-old child.
09/08/2024 – On Friday morning (9), a man was arrested in the Botafogo neighborhood during Operation Angelus, conducted by the Federal Police. The arrest came after it was discovered that the suspect kept 945 digital files with material related to child sexual abuse. The investigation, carried out by the Federal Police Station in Macaé in partnership with a North American NGO, revealed that the man had downloaded and stored this illegal content on his cell phone.
12/08/2024 – On Monday (12) morning, the Military Police received information that a 45-year-old suspect had stolen electrical wiring cables during the early hours of Sunday (11) at a construction site in downtown Macaé. The suspect was located near the Ivan Mundim bridge. The agents of the Segurança Presente program managed to arrest him. He had an open arrest warrant for robbery in the State of Pernambuco.
13/08/2024 – On Santa Bárbara Street, in the Malvina neighborhood, in Macaé, the police arrested a man suspected of drug trafficking, on Tuesday (13). After receiving complaints that an individual, wearing a black shirt and blue shorts, would be selling narcotics on the premises. The agents set up an operation and managed to approach the suspect. During the search, 15 cocaine pins, 150 marijuana bushings, two radio transmitters, and an amount of 31 reais were found with the man. He had a role in drug trafficking in the region, linked to the criminal faction Friend of Friends (ADA).
13/08/2024 – Based on privileged information, an operation by the 32nd BPM, launched on Tuesday (13), resulted in the arrest of two suspected drug traffickers in the Botafogo neighborhood. Both bandits are linked to the criminal faction Friend of Friends (ADA). The police went to Rua Antônio Bichara Filho, where the first criminal was approached. With him, R$10 in cash, 13 bundles of marijuana (26g), and 11 bags of cocaine (22g) were found. During the approach, the attention of the agents turned to the second criminal, already known in the police environment for involvement with trafficking. After a personal search, R$325 in cash was found, which he confessed to be part of the trafficking collection.
20/08/2024 – During a routine patrol on Tuesday (20) in the Cajueiros neighborhood, in Macaé, the Military Police arrested a couple suspected of involvement with drug trafficking. A bag containing 58 wrappers of marijuana was seized. In the same place, a man identified himself as the suspect’s husband and stated that the seized material belonged to him.
23/08/2024 – A man was arrested in the Fronteira neighborhood in Macaé this Friday (23). According to the occurrence, the Military Police received information that two elements would be trafficking on Avenida Beira Mar. The garrison then went to the location and managed to locate one of the criminals. The man tried to flee when he noticed the approach of the police but to no avail. A tactical siege was set up and he was eventually captured. With the individual, the police found a blue bag with a considerable quantity of drugs.
25/08/2024 – On Sunday afternoon (25), a police operation on Jandira Perlingeiro Street, in the Alto dos Cajueiros neighborhood, in Macaé, resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug trafficker. The individual, known for working in the Linha favela, was caught while patrolling the area. During the approach, the agents found with the suspect 08 crack rocks, weighing approximately 16 grams, in addition to R$1,412.00 in cash. The investigation confirmed the connection with the criminal faction ADA (Friend of Friends).
26/08/2024 – On the afternoon of Monday (26), three women were arrested in the Visconde de Araújo neighborhood, in Macaé, after an operation by the Military Police. The action began with complaints about drug trafficking in the area. Upon arriving at the indicated residence, the police approached two women who were entering the property. They claimed to be just visiting a friend but ended up revealing that the resident of the house was involved in trafficking. A third woman confirmed the accusation and informed the police that she had hidden the narcotic material in the backyard. During the search, marijuana bushings, crack rocks, and a small amount of money were found.
26/08/2024 – Police officers from the 32nd Military Police Battalion (32ºBPM) seized, on Monday (26), a large quantity of drugs in the Lagomar neighborhood. According to information, the garrison went to a sandbank area in the locality to comply with an order from Operation 208 Total Force. The police carried out several searches in the forest until they managed to locate a hiding place used by criminals. At the site, 840 marijuana bushings, 312 crack rocks, and 2 radio transmitters were found.
27/08/2024 – A man was arrested in Macaé, on Tuesday (27), when he was caught with nine kilos of marijuana at a Post Office in downtown Macaé. The individual was captured thanks to a joint operation between the Federal Police and the Federal Revenue. The arrest was consummated when the individual picked up a package at the agency. After further investigation, police discovered the drug disguised in tablets inside a microwave oven.
29/08/2024 – A 31-year-old man was arrested by agents of the 123rd Police Precinct (123rd DP), this Thursday (29) in Imbetiba, central region of Macaé. The individual was considered a fugitive and had an open arrest warrant for aggravated robbery. According to the occurrence, the individual would have approached a lady in the center of Macaé and stolen her belongings.

- After dark, avoid Glória and the Centro (Downtown).
- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Parque Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be careful when walking downtown, avoid exposing valuables.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
