04/01/2025 – The body of a well-known hairdresser in the region was found partially charred on Avenida Atlântica, in the Lagomar neighborhood, on Saturday morning (04/01). According to the Military Police, the corpse showed signs of violence, with three fingers of one hand cut off. The crime was registered as intentional homicide, but the causes and motivations are still unknown.

06/01/2025 – On Monday afternoon (06/01), two people were detained after breaking into an abandoned property in the Center with the intention of stealing. The suspects were hiding on the roof. With them, the agents found two large plastic bags containing electric cables.
11/01/2025 – On Saturday morning (11/01), in the Malvinas neighborhood, agents of the 123rd DP arrested a 27-year-old man for aggravated bodily injury, under the Maria da Penha Law. According to police information, the suspect assaulted his partner by hanging, pressing her against the wall of the residence.
21/01/2025 – On Monday (21/01), the Military Police carried out another stage of the operation to occupy the Favela da Linha, in Macaé. During the actions, 16 people were arrested and four underage individuals were apprehended. During the operation, agents also confiscated 826 grams of cocaine, 885 grams of crack, 250 grams of marijuana, and the amount of R$3,761. In times of gang wars, this slum tends to accumulate many violent conflicts due to its strategic location, which is central and close to rich neighborhoods.
22/01/2025 – An integrated police operation resulted in the seizure of drugs in the Cajueiros neighborhood, in Macaé. The operation was carried out after information indicated that members of the Friend of Friends (ADA) drug gang, originally from the Favela da Linha, had migrated to the region due to the permanent police occupation of the area. During this action in Cajueiros, 93 cocaine pellets, 74 crack rocks and 27 portions of marijuana were seized. But the criminals managed to escape.
30/01/2025 – On Thursday afternoon (30/01), civil police officers from the 123rd DP arrested a drug dealer in the Bela Vista neighborhood. The suspect was caught with a large quantity of drugs. Upon noticing the arrival of the team, he tried to flee. During the action, agents seized a plastic bag containing 130 wrappers of cocaine, discarded by the suspect in the escape attempt.

- After dark, avoid Glória and the Centro (Downtown).
- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Parque Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be careful when walking downtown, avoid exposing valuables.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
