01/06/2025 – On Sunday (01/06), police thwarted an attempted homicide in Glicério, a mountainous region of Macaé. A man tried to shoot another person three times, but the weapon misfired. Witnesses reported the suspect driving a black car, prompting a swift police response. He was found with a magazine, eight live rounds, and an axe in the vehicle. The suspect was arrested.
03/06/2025 – On Tuesday (03/06), a man was arrested for drug trafficking in Praia Campista. He attempted to flee after hiding something in his jacket upon seeing military police officers, but was quickly apprehended. Police recovered the discarded material, which included crack rocks, cocaine pouches, marijuana bags, and white powder vials.

03/06/2025 – On Tuesday night (03/06), a woman was arrested for drug trafficking in the Favela da Linha. Surveillance identified the suspect engaging in drug-related activity. During the arrest, officers found cocaine vials and cash believed to be proceeds from drug sales.
09/06/2025 – Two individuals were detained for drug trafficking on Monday night (09/06) in the Favela da Linha. Officers from the 32nd Military Police Battalion spotted the suspects acting suspiciously and pursued them after they tried to flee. During the arrest, police found 20 grams of crack and 24 grams of marijuana, along with R$ 860 in cash.
16/06/2025 – On Sunday (16/06), the police arrested a 34-year-old man in the Aroeira neighborhood. He was wanted for the rape of his 5-year-old stepdaughter, a crime committed in 2017. The arrest was carried out by officers from the 123rd Police Precinct (DP) based on a warrant issued by the Macaé Special Criminal Court.
16/06/2025 – On Monday night (16/06), the police arrested a 39-year-old man in the Lagomar neighborhood for violating a restraining order. The arrest came after his ex-partner reported to the 123rd Police Precinct that he had resumed contact attempts despite a court order issued in May prohibiting any approach.
16/06/2025 – On Monday (16/06), the police arrested a woman accused of carrying out a “Boa noite, Cinderela” scam (spiked drink scam) in 2023. The suspect drugged and robbed a victim at home, stealing over R$ 100,000 with the help of two accomplices.
18/06/2025 – On Wednesday (18/06), a man was arrested in the Lagomar neighborhood for drug trafficking and criminal association. He was caught carrying a bag containing drugs, a radio communicator, and packaging materials. The arrest was made by officers from the 123rd Police Station during an operation based on a tip about drug distribution activity. The suspect admitted to being a member of the Red Command faction.
25/06/2025 – On Wednesday night (25), police detained a man and seized drugs at Colégio Visconde in the Visconde de Araújo neighborhood. Officers on patrol noticed two suspects acting nervously and fleeing; one dropped a bag of drugs while escaping, and the other was found hiding in a tree on school grounds. Seized items included 25 vials of cocaine, 69 crack rocks, 6 grams of hashish, and a mobile phone.
27/06/2025 – A 65-year-old man was arrested early Friday (27) in the Visconde de Araújo neighborhood for raping a vulnerable person. He is accused of drugging and sexually assaulting a 21-year-old woman who considered him a “surrogate uncle.” According to the victim, he insisted she drink beer, after which she lost consciousness and later awoke, showing signs of abuse. Her sister later received a photo from the victim’s ex-partner showing the man having sex with her while she was unconscious. The suspect was arrested in a police operation and booked at the 123rd Police Station.
28/06/2025 – A man wanted by the Justice system was captured by military police from the 32nd BPM on the night of Saturday (28), in Novo Horizonte. The arrest occurred during a patrol after a group attempted to flee upon seeing the officers. A tactical perimeter was set up and all individuals were searched, with nothing illegal initially found. However, a criminal database check revealed one man had an open arrest warrant for robbery issued by the 2nd Criminal Court of Macaé. He was taken to the 123rd Police Station and remains in custody.
29/06/2025 – On Sunday (29), a man was arrested by Segurança Presente agents after threatening another individual with a knife in downtown Macaé. The reason for the conflict was not disclosed. Police intervened quickly to prevent further harm, and the suspect was taken to the 123rd Police Station, where the weapon was confiscated.
30/06/2025 – On Monday afternoon (30), a 38-year-old man was arrested in the Imbetiba neighborhood after allegedly threatening to kill his mother. The case was reported by his sister, who witnessed the threats and stated that the man had a history of aggression and excessive alcohol use. According to the police, he reacted violently upon receiving a summons and told relatives they would see their mother in a coffin if she filed a report.

- As risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas due to gang presence,
- avoid: Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana, Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto, and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros).
- When going to and leaving Vale Encantado, never walk, call a licensed taxi, or use a company-approved ride-sharing App.
- In any situation, avoid waiting on the sidewalk. If you call a taxi, for instance, wait inside a building and only leave when the car arrives.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
