15/05/2023 – The Military Police carried out an operation to remove barricades installed by drug dealers in the Nova Holanda and Bela Vista neighborhoods. In the Nova Holanda neighborhood, more than three streets were surrounded by barricades. The obstacles, made with train tracks driven into the ground, were placed by traffickers to make it difficult for the police to act. According to the police, these blocks also affect the operation of public services and the right to come and go of residents. Nobody was arrested.
16/05/2023 – The Military Police arrested a man with an adulterated motorcycle on Rua Nova Aurora, in downtown Macaé. A Military Police team was on patrol near the Linha community when they spotted a man riding a red motorcycle without a license plate. Upon realizing the approach of the car, the criminal fled, triggering a police pursuit. The motorcyclist ended up colliding on a corner, where he was arrested.
16/05/2023 – A 34-year-old man who was the head of drug trafficking in the Linha community, in the Cajueiros neighborhood, was arrested by the Civil Police. According to the Civil Police, he was also wanted for murder and triple-qualified attempted murder. He has an extensive criminal history related to homicides, mainly linked to the drug war in Macaé.
