01/10/2022 – A woman suffered an attempted murder in the Lagomar neighborhood. According to the Military Police (PM), the victim was taken to the Municipal Public Hospital (HPM), where officers were called to verify the occurrence. Still conscious, the 21-year-old informed the police that she was walking along W5 Street when she was shot by four elements inside a car. After the shooting, the criminals fled.

05/10/2022 – The Military Police arrested four men and apprehended a teenager with drugs, ammunition and weapons in the Lagomar community. According to the report, officers received information that men linked to the ADA criminal faction were on their way to the community to carry out attacks on members of the rival Red Command (CV) faction. The vehicle was spotted by the military on Avenue W07 and after searches, the military collected 3 pistols with ammunition, in addition to marijuana, bags of cocaine, three radios communicators and five cell phones.
08/10/2022 – A 61-year-old woman was killed during a robbery on Rua Ailton Silva, in Praia do Pecado. The criminal, a street sweeper, was hiding behind a wall waiting for the victim to leave her residence. According to the Military Police (PM), he seemed to already know the victim’s routine. At around 6:00, the elderly woman left her home when she was surprised by the criminal, who pulled the cord that was around her neck. The two got into a fight, and the victim fell to the ground after being pushed by the criminal, who then fled. In the fall, the elderly woman hit her head on the sidewalk.
08/10/2022 – Civilian police officers arrested a member of a criminal organization that applied scams to offshore machinery rental companies in the city of Macaé and surrounding areas. The criminal was arrested in the Imboassica neighborhood, in the same municipality, when he tried to apply another scam. According to the officers, the gang caused damages of more than R$ 500 thousand to the companies.
18/10/2022 – A drug trafficking ‘manager’ and his ‘security guard’ were arrested in the Parque Aeroporto neighborhood. According to the incident, the Military Police were carrying out diligences in the region when they had their attention turned to a vehicle that fled when realizing the officers presence. After a chase, the criminals drove the car into a condominium, but were eventually arrested. With them, the police seized two pistols, five magazines, 73 ammunition, a radio communicator, a holster and a belt with a magazine holder.
19/10/2022 – A 19-year-old boy was found dead with his mouth gagged, in addition to tied hands and feet and a gunshot wound to the head in the Engenho da Praia neighborhood. According to the Military Police, officers were called on Ceará Street after gunshots. At the scene, they found the young man already dead.
24/10/2022 – Three teenagers, aged between 15 and 17, were arrested after stealing a car. The Military Police received information that a silver car had just been stolen from a gym on Rua Acapulco, in the Cavaleiros neighborhood, and, after a tactical siege, they found the vehicle on Rua Dr. Bueno, with the trio on board.

- After dark, avoid Glória and the Centro (Downtown).
- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
