31/08/2024 – A man died, and another was injured after exchanging fire with the Military Police in the Lagomar neighborhood, on Saturday (31). The information indicates that the agents were carrying out a routine patrol in the locality when they were shot by the criminals. The police retaliated and after the ceasefire, a man was found lying on the ground with a 9 mm pistol and a radio communicator. The other criminals fled.

31/08/2024 – In the late afternoon of Saturday (31), a woman was stabbed by her ex-husband in Praça do Rodo, located in the Visconde de Araújo neighborhood, in Macaé. The attack took place in the middle of the square, causing great commotion among residents. The police were called and are investigating the case.
01/09/2024 – A business located in the Parque Aeroporto neighborhood, in Macaé, was the target of a robbery this Sunday (1st). A man, wearing a cap, sunglasses, and wearing a black shirt, announced the crime by surrendering the employees who were at the cashier. He took a sum of money, which was not disclosed.
08/09/2024 – On Sunday afternoon (8), agents of the Segurança Presente Macaé program arrested a man who was riding a motorcycle in the Imbetiba neighborhood. During the approach, the team discovered that the motorcycle’s engine was the product of theft, registered at the 14th DP Leblon in Rio de Janeiro in 2009.
09/09/2024 – On the afternoon of Monday (9), in the Lagomar neighborhood, civil police officers from the 123rd Police Station arrested a 26-year-old man, accused of threatening to kill his adoptive mother. The arrest was made after intense intelligence work by the police team. The crime occurred when the aggressor, in a moment of fury, threatened the victim with death. Days later, he again intimidated the adoptive mother, this time threatening to burn down the house where she lived.
09/09/2024 – The Military Police arrested a man for drug trafficking last Saturday (9) in Bela Vista, in Macaé. According to information, the agents went to Margarida da Conceição Santos Street to investigate a complaint that an individual would be trafficked there. On approach, the police found a load containing cocaine and marijuana.
16/09/2024 – The Macaé Present Security team, on Monday (16), managed to locate and arrest a man accused of stealing a cell phone. According to information, agents were called to investigate a phone theft that occurred the night before, in the Imbetiba neighborhood. The agents acted quickly and began searches in areas where the suspects used to circulate.
16/09/2024 – The Civil Police of Macaé made the arrest, on Monday (16), in the center of Macaé, of two men who were trying to buy a TV with a cloned credit card. According to the information, the victim received a notification about the unrecognized purchase and found out that it would be picked up at a physical store. Agents went to the establishment and managed to arrest the suspects.
16/09/2024 – A man was arrested on the morning of Monday (16) by agents of the 32nd Military Police Battalion of Macaé (32ºBPM), in the Virgin Santa neighborhood, for drug trafficking. The individual was arrested during a patrol by the Tactical Action Group (GAT) Teams in the region. With him, the police found cocaine, marijuana, and cash.
18/09/2024 – A drug trafficking point in the Lagomar neighborhood was dismantled on Wednesday (18), thanks to a joint operation between police officers from the 32nd Military Police Battalion (32nd BPM) and the 123rd Police Station (123rd DP). Three people were arrested. The police arrived at the scene after receiving complaints about the sale of narcotics in the region.
23/09/2024 – On the afternoon of Monday (23), agents of the 32nd BPM carried out a routine operation in the Alto dos Cajueiros neighborhood. During the patrol, four individuals were approached after a suspicious attitude. Two of them were charged with drug trafficking.
23/09/2024 – On Monday (23), police officers from the 32nd BPM carried out an operation in the Nova Holanda neighborhood after receiving complaints that elements of the criminal faction Amigo dos Amigos (ADA) would be using moored boats to hide narcotics. Upon arriving at the scene, agents seized marijuana and cocaine. No one was arrested.

- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista and Cavaleiros.
- Avoid Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana and Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros), as risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas.
- As much as possible, restrict movement in the districts of Novo Horizonte (in Vale Encantado) and Parque Aeroporto. Do not walk alone in these areas and use only licensed taxis.
- Be careful when walking downtown, avoid exposing valuables.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
