03/09/2025 – On Wednesday (03/09), civil police from the 123rd DP arrested a man wanted for attempted homicide and threats in Macaé. According to the investigation, on 8 June he broke into his ex-partner’s home and stabbed her current boyfriend in the abdomen, then chased both victims through the street while threatening to kill them. After fleeing the scene, he continued to send death threats by message. Following the investigation, the 1st Criminal Court of Macaé issued a preventive arrest warrant, and the suspect was located and taken into custody in the Parque Atlântico neighborhood.
08/09/2025 – On Monday (08/09), Civil Police arrested a man and a woman for drug trafficking and criminal association in the Parque Aeroporto neighborhood. The operation, led by the 123rd Police Precinct, took place on Rua Irmã Ângelo Puerari, where officers found packaged drugs, containers, and stickers linked to the Red Command (CV). A man was caught and arrested on site, while the woman, who was the target of a warrant issued by the Penal Enforcement Court, was later located in the São Marcos neighborhood and taken into custody.

08/09/2025 – On Monday (08/09), Military Police officers from the 32nd BPM’s P2 unit detained a man in the Botafogo neighborhood following an anonymous tip-off about drug activity. The report described a suspect wearing a football jersey and allegedly involved in selling drugs in the Sem Terra community. When located crossing the street, the man was searched and found with R$22 in cash. A further sweep of the area uncovered 20 packets of marijuana and 19 vials of cocaine. The suspect was taken to the 123rd Police Station, where the narcotics were seized.
10/09/2025 – On Wednesday (10/09), Civil Police in Macaé arrested a man identified as one of the leaders of the criminal faction Friends of Friends (ADA) in the Malvinas community. The operation, coordinated by the 123rd DP, targeted the suspect known locally as “Barata.” He was wanted on a recapture warrant for attempted homicide and drug trafficking association. Intelligence work led police to his location on the neighborhood’s main street, where he was detained. Officers also seized packaged narcotics ready for sale.
11/09/2025 – On Thursday (11/09), officers from the 32nd BPM’s intelligence unit located a stash of drugs buried on Rua W20 in the Lagomar neighborhood. Acting on information that members of the Red Command (CV) were using the area to conceal narcotics, police carried out a detailed search and uncovered a buried bag containing 678 vials of cocaine and 26 small bricks of marijuana. The seized material was taken to the 123rd DP for legal processing.
15/09/2025 – On Monday (15/09), Civil Police in Macaé arrested a man in Barra de Macaé accused of participating in a violent home invasion in Campos dos Goytacazes on 6 June, when he and an accomplice tied up three women with electrical wires, stole electronics, jewelry, R$ 4,200 in cash, R$ 1,000 via Pix, foreign currency, and fled in the family’s white Corolla Cross; a warrant for aggravated robbery had been issued, and the suspect now remains in custody awaiting trial.
15/09/2025 – On Monday (15/09), a Military Police operation in Barra de Macaé, triggered by an anonymous tip and supported by the intelligence unit, resulted in the seizure of about 1 kg of drugs, including portions of marijuana, packets of cocaine, 1 kg of cocaine powder, as well as three radios, chargers, and precision scales; all materials were sent to the 123rd Police Precinct.
21/09/2025 – On Sunday (21/09), Civil Police arrested a man in the Lagomar neighborhood for strangling his partner. The victim, who had previously suffered abuse but feared reporting it due to gang control in her area, described being choked unconscious, dragged to the bathroom, beaten, and threatened with boiling water. The assault ended when her children called their grandmother, who intervened.
21/09/2025 – In the early hours of Sunday (21/09), Military Police arrested two men in Parque Aeroporto during a GAT (Tactical Action Group) operation that also recovered a stolen motorcycle. One suspect had two outstanding warrants, for homicide and robbery, while both had criminal records for homicide, drug trafficking, robbery, and receiving stolen goods. During the arrest, they attempted to bribe officers with R$20,000, leading to an additional charge of active corruption.
22/09/2025 – On Monday (22/09), police arrested a teenager during a patrol in the Fronteira neighborhood, an area influenced by the ADA faction. The suspect initially drew a gun but surrendered after being surrounded. Officers seized a 9mm pistol with its serial number removed, ammunition, two radios, and packages of cocaine and marijuana. He was taken to the 123rd precinct and charged with drug trafficking and criminal association.
24/09/2025 – On Wednesday (24/09), Civil Police arrested a man wanted for attempted homicide. The case dates back to 6 January 2024, when a victim was shot multiple times in the Lagomar neighborhood but survived. Investigators determined the attack stemmed from faction rivalries: the assailants had recently switched allegiance to ADA and were ordered to kill a rival Red Command member to prove loyalty. Police captured the suspect on RJ-106, in Lagomar.

- After dark, avoid walking alone in Praia Campista, Cavaleiros, Glória and the central area.
- As risks of collateral damage and assault are high in these areas due to gang presence,
- avoid: Lagomar, Barra de Macaé, Engenho da Praia, Planalto da Ajuda, Ajuda de Cima, Ajuda de Baixo, Morro de Santana, Morro de São Jorge (in Paraíso), Fronteira, Jardim Maringá, Barra, Nova Holanda, Malvinas, Botafogo, Aroeira, Parque Aeroporto, and the surroundings of Favela da Linha (in between Visconde de Araújo and Cajueiros).
- When going to and leaving Vale Encantado, never walk, call a licensed taxi, or use a company-approved ride-sharing App.
- In any situation, avoid waiting on the sidewalk. If you call a taxi, for instance, wait inside a building and only leave when the car arrives.
- Be always cautious, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, cell phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand.
