11/11/2023 – Four criminals were arrested by the Military Police for breaking into a condominium in the Freguesia, West Zone. Two of the prisoners were injured. According to witnesses, the bandits invaded the place and ran into a forested area. According to the PM, officers carried out a tactical siege of criminals between the Freguesia and the community of Rio das Pedras. A rifle and ammunition were seized.
12/11/2023 – The Federal Police arrested a suspect for participating in the scheme to recruit Brazilians by the extremist group Hezbollah. His identity was not disclosed. On Wednesday (08/11), the Federal Police carried out an operation to interrupt preparatory acts for terrorist attacks in Brazil. At the time, the police carried out a total of eleven search and seizure warrants and two people were arrested.

12/11/2023 – The children of singer Arlindo Cruz, Arlindinho and Flora Cruz, were robbed after a concert in honor of their father in Barra da Tijuca, West Zone. In addition to the siblings, a producer was also targeted by criminals. On social media, the artists’ production team announced what had happened, and that the three’s cell phones had been taken.
13/11/2023 – The elderly Francisco Goulart de Campos, 75 years old, was arrested by Security Presente agents for sexual harassment inside a subway car, in downtown Rio. According to reports, the victim had his back turned to the man. She would have been alerted to the situation by another woman in the subway car. The young woman told the agents that this man was very close to her, with his genitals excited. According to the victim, he even put one of his hands in his pocket and tried to touch the young woman.
13/11/2023 – The Military Police carried out an operation in Parque União, Parque Rubens Vaz and Nova Holanda, in Complexo da Maré, North Zone. The action was for Rio City Hall to demolish 30 illegally built houses. According to residents, there was a confrontation between police and criminals. According to the Military Police, the objective of the action was to repress vehicle and cargo theft, search for weapons and drugs and stabilize the land so that Rio City Hall can carry out demolitions in the favela complex. A rifle was seized, and a man was arrested.
14/11/2023 – A joint action by the Federal Police (PF) and the Federal Revenue Service arrested Diego Basílio Ribeiro, known as Ratão or Playboy. According to investigations, he was the recipient of an order for 29 AK-47 rifle magazines that left Poland. The cargo was found at the Post Office at Galeão Airport, North Zone. The PF suspects that the chargers would be sent to criminal organizations in communities in Rio.
15/11/2023 – The Military Police took at least 120 people — including many teenagers and some children — to police stations in the South Zone on Wednesday (15/11), the Proclamation of the Republic Holiday. Among the incidents, people traveling on the roof of buses and suspected thefts. Policing was intensified on the beaches, to carry out measures to prevent and repress acts of disorder and crime. When leaving the beach, there was a rush on Avenida Venceslau Brás, in front of RioSul. A group of around 20 young people fled from police officers who surrounded teenagers at one of the bus stops.
15/11/2023 – The Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco) closed an illegal bingo that operated in Madureira, North Zone. 50 slot machines were seized. Four employees and 20 gamblers who were at the scene were taken to the police station.
15/11/2023 – A man was shot as he was leaving a motel on Avenida Brasil, in Realengo, West Zone. The man was on a motorcycle and was approached by armed criminals, who fired several shots. Images from a security camera at the establishment recorded the moment of the crime. According to the Civil Police, the victim was interviewed and claimed that he had suffered an attempted robbery. In a statement, the Civil Police said they are investigating whether he is involved with militiamen in the region.
16/11/2023 – Agents from Security Presente, from Copacabana, South Zone, arrested Lucas Nazaré dos Santos. He is suspected of breaking into the apartment of an 81-year-old woman and stealing around R$10,000 worth of jewelry. According to Security Presente, Lucas and another man tried to scam the elderly woman, posing as IRS inspectors.
