19/10/2023 – A security camera on Bricio Filho Street, in Guadalupe, North Zone, caught the moment when a criminal climbs onto the roof of a vehicle parked on the road to steal internet cables. The image shows the bold action of the man who appears cutting the cables with a knife.

20/10/2023 – A civil police officer mistakenly entered the Cinco Bocas favela, in Complexo de Israel, North Zone, and was attacked by criminals. The officer managed to escape, but had to abandon his car and weapon, which were later recovered by police teams.
21/10/2023 – A van rented by the Military Police (PM), and which was to be used in a social project, was stolen in Benfica, North Zone. The criminals captured the officer and forced him to take the vehicle to Morro do Tuiuti, in São Cristóvão. The PM was captured on Rua Capitão Félix and released shortly afterwards, without suffering any injuries.
21/10/2023 – José André Ferreira Costa Júnior, MC PQD, was arrested in Olaria, North Zone. He is part of the largest faction in Rio de Janeiro. The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Civil Police of Ceará, which had support from the Police Station for the Repression of Organized Criminal Actions and Special Inquiries (Draco) in Rio. According to the police, he published videos using long weapons, vest ballistics and symbols associated with the criminal group, which operates in both Rio and Ceará.
22/10/2023 – A fan died after a fight between members of organized Flamengo and Vasco fans near Cosmos station, in the West Zone. Four other people were injured. According to the police, a group of Vasco fans was heading towards Maracanã, when the train passed through Cosmos station and they encountered a group of Flamengo fans, a confrontation ensued.
23/10/2023 – Militiaman Matheus da Silva Rezende, aged 24, died after being shot in a shooting with the Civil Police, in the Três Pontes community, in Santa Cruz, West Zone. Due to Faustão’s death, several buses were burned in different parts of the West Zone.
24/10/2023 – A 28-year-old man was arrested for trying to set fire to the Church of Nossa Senhora da Candelária, in Praça Pio X, in downtown Rio. Church employees managed to control the flames and call a Security Present team, who took the criminal away. According to employees, the man spread a flammable liquid inside the Cathedral and set it on fire. A Molotov cocktail, a plastic bottle filled with flammable liquid, and lighters were seized from the criminal.
24/10/2023 – Rio’s security forces carried out a major operation in the West Zone in search of militiaman Luís Antônio da Silva Braga, known as Zinho. Agents carried out search and seizure warrants against the paramilitary. The action comes after a series of attacks that culminated in 35 buses being set on fire in the West Zone on Monday (23/10). The action of the Civil and Military police also aims to prevent other buses from being burned.
26/10/2023 – Two women were robbed by four men in Humaitá, South Zone. They were looking in the trunk of a car, which was parked on Rua Vitório da Costa, when the three-armed criminals arrived. After the robbery, the criminals fled.
26/10/2023 – A military police officer was shot in Cidade Nova, downtown Rio. A sergeant was approached by robbers on Rua Heitor Carrilho. He reacted, exchanged shots with the criminals and was shot. The criminal fled.
26/10/2023 – Criminal João Ricardo Cardoso Mota, known as R7, was arrested in Muzema, West Zone. The arrest was during a joint action between the Police Station for the Repression of Organized Criminal Actions and Special Inquiries (Draco-IE) and the Undersecretariat of Intelligence (Ssinte). Considered one of the leaders of drug trafficking operating in Bahia and other states in the country, he was found in an area dominated by the militia.
27/10/2023 – Pedro Paulo Magalhães de Rezende and Douglas Elias de Souza, appointed as responsible for the security of Rui Paulo Gonçalves Estevão, known as Pipito — number 2 of the largest militia in the West Zone — were arrested in Santa Cruz, in the West Zone. The joint action of the Federal and Military police seized weapons, ammunition, R$ 22 thousand in cash, jewelry, cell phones and militia documents.
