Between 19 May and 8 July, five members of the First Capital Command (PCC) were arrested in the Baixada Santista region of São Paulo state—four in Santos and one in Praia Grande. Among them were two gunsmiths and key leaders, including José Roberto de Andrade, known as “Bicudo,” who was shot while resisting arrest in Santos. Vinicius Rafael do Nascimento Mendes, also known as “Vini Negão” and president of the Vila Mathias samba school, was caught with drugs on the premises. Another man, “JeffGun,” was arrested with rifles and pistols. The arrests were part of broader operations targeting PCC arms logistics and leadership.

18/07/2025 – On Friday (18/07), an 18-year-old man was shot in the groin and arrested after a shootout with police in a drug-trafficking area of Jardim Castelo. During the GOE operation at Caminho da Divisa, officers were met with gunfire from suspects hiding behind barricades. While two fled, the injured man was found behind a parked car. A firearm was seized, and a bystander’s car was hit by bullets without injuries. The investigation continues to identify the remaining fugitives, including one reportedly wounded in the hand.
18/07/2025 – A man was caught on surveillance cameras stealing about two kilograms of electrical wires after climbing a streetlight pole in downtown Santos, São Paulo, in the early hours of Friday (18/07). The city’s Operational Control Center (CCO) alerted the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), prompting a pursuit. The suspect jumped from the pole and attempted to flee, abandoning a backpack with the stolen wires, but was captured a few meters away on Rua Amador Bueno.
20/07/2025 – On Sunday (20/07), the body of a 14-year-old boy who had been missing for two days was found in Santos. Emergency medical services confirmed the death at the scene on Avenida Francisco Manoel, in the Morro da Nova Cintra area. The case was registered as a suspicious death at the Central Police Station of Santos and is currently under investigation. The victim’s name has not been released.
22/07/2025 – On the morning of Tuesday (22/07), an armed gang robbed a delivery van loaded with contraband cigarettes near Canal 1 in Santos. At least four suspects, traveling in a black car and on a motorcycle, held the driver at gunpoint and stole the company vehicle. Using GPS data, the Military Police located part of the cargo at a liquor store lacking proper documentation and the rest inside an abandoned vehicle on Morro Santa Maria. Authorities recovered 2,780 packs of stolen cigarettes and 803 packs of foreign-brand cigarettes, arrested two women, and seized surveillance equipment.
23/07/2025 – On Wednesday (23/07), a 35-year-old man was arrested in downtown Santos after allegedly sexually harassing a 41-year-old woman on a municipal bus. The victim screamed for help, prompting the driver to alert nearby civil police officers, who detained the suspect on the spot. The man denied the accusations and was carrying a backpack with candy. At the police station, authorities discovered he had previously been reported missing and officially recorded his whereabouts.
