Between early April and early May 2025, a residential building on Rua André Vidal de Negreiros, in the Ponta da Praia neighborhood, was broken into at least four times—apparently by the same individual. Surveillance footage shows the suspect climbing the gate and stealing bicycles on at least two occasions; other attempts were thwarted by an alarm system.

20/05/2025 – On Tuesday (20/05), in the Marapé neighborhood, a 36-year-old fugitive was recaptured after failing to return to a semi-open prison following temporary release. Military police had located him near the Morro José Menino tunnel after receiving an alert. The man, who initially provided a false name and had no ID, was identified through facial recognition via the ‘Muralha Paulista’ app.
22/05/2025 – On Thursday (22/05), the president of the Escola de Samba (GRCES) Vila Mathias was arrested in flagrante delicto for drug trafficking inside the school’s warehouse. According to police, he is linked to the First Capital Command (PCC) and allegedly oversaw the storage and distribution of narcotics in the Baixada Santista. During a search, officers found cocaine, marijuana, packaging tools, and drug-cutting agents in a locked room.
25/05/2025 – On Sunday night (25/05), a man caused a disturbance after being denied entry to a bar on Avenida Afonso Pena, in the Estuário neighborhood, due to inappropriate attire. He insulted and pushed a security guard, left the scene, then returned and verbally abused the military police officers who had been called. Visibly agitated and aggressive, he was restrained and struck during the intervention. Taken to the police station, he showed signs of confusion, possibly from substance use.
27/05/2025 – A 41-year-old man, wanted for aggravated homicide, criminal organization involvement, and robbery, was arrested on Tuesday (27/05) in Morro do Pacheco during an anti-drug trafficking operation. He is accused of ordering the assassination of Marcelo Gonçalves Cassola, head of the identification department at the Palácio da Polícia, who was shot over 30 times on 22 August 2022, in Santos.
