14/10/2025 – On Tuesday (14), two men robbed an optical store in the Gonzaga neighborhood. The suspects held two employees hostage, locked them in the bathroom, and fled with cash and several pairs of eyeglasses. One of the assailants, a 40-year-old man, was arrested three days later at his home in São Vicente during a police operation that used security footage and technological tracking to locate him. He confessed to the crime, saying he acted out of desperation due to unemployment and unpaid rent. Police recovered around R$26,000 in stolen goods, a fake firearm, and the clothes worn during the robbery, while the second suspect remains at large.

15/10/2025 – On Wednesday (15), Civil Police officers in Santos seized dozens of beer bottles suspected of being adulterated in a commercial establishment on Rua João Pessoa, in the city’s downtown area. The operation was launched after an anonymous tip and found beverages with signs of tampering, expired products, and items stored in unsuitable conditions for consumption. The materials were seized and sent for forensic analysis to confirm possible adulteration and prevent risks to public health.
17/10/2025 – On Friday (17), a 40-year-old man was shot during a Military Police operation in Morro do Pacheco. According to the state’s Public Security Secretariat, the suspect was armed and made a motion to shoot at officers when he was hit. The operation had been launched after police were fired upon in the area the previous day. The man was rescued by emergency services and taken to Santa Casa de Santos.
18/10/2025 – On Saturday (18), Military Police officers seized 174 bottles of adulterated alcoholic beverages — including vodka, gin, whiskey, and beer — in the Castelo neighborhood. Two men were detained after a tip led police to a residence where the falsified drinks were stored, some showing broken seals and missing expiration dates. Additional bottles were found inside two vehicles parked outside. The suspects admitted to purchasing the products in São Paulo to resell them for making cocktails in the region.
21/10/2025 – On Tuesday (21), Operation Octanagem targeted gas stations in Santos and Praia Grande suspected of laundering PCC funds, as part of the wider Carbono Oculto probe. Search warrants were executed at three stations in Praia Grande and two in Santos, with some pumps sealed; in total, 33 stations in the Baixada Santista were among 251 nationwide under investigation. Authorities accuse the network of using shell companies and fuel adulteration to conceal roughly R$52 billion between 2020 and 2024, with an estimated R$7.6 billion in tax fraud. The case, led by the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office with federal and state support, remains under judicial secrecy.
