Intentional homicides recorded in August in the city of São Paulo increased by 60% compared to the same month in 2023, according to data released by the Public Security Secretariat. Cases went from 30 to 48 this year. Robberies continue to rise in 2024 in the capital, with an increase of 66%, and, this month, they went from 3 to 5. In the year, in the first eight months, homicide cases went from 301 to 307, an increase of 2%. Culpable bodily injury due to traffic accidents also continues to rise, with an increase of 13.50% in August, as well as rapes, with an increase of 30.91%.

27/09/2024 – A teacher has been investigated, since Friday (27), on suspicion of having abused an 11-year-old boy, since last month, in a state school in the South Zone of São Paulo. A video of the crime was filmed by the victim’s classmates and forwarded to the Civil Police. The crime occurred inside the classroom. The professor resigned from his position on the same day and is on the run.
28/09/2024 – A 53-year-old woman was tortured and impaled by an unknown person on Saturday afternoon (28), when she was walking her dog on the sidewalk of Avenida Anastácio, in Parque São Domingos (North Zone). According to her, the man approached her saying he had been called by her ex-husband.
28/09/2024 – Four suspects robbed a residence on Saturday afternoon (28) and stole items valued at R$6,000 in the Brooklin neighborhood (South Zone). The gang, aged between 16 and 22, was armed and was fleeing in a stolen car when they were captured moments later by the Military Police.
29/09/2024 – A 35-year-old man was stabbed to death in the early hours of Sunday (29) at Central 1926, an event house in Praça da Bandeira (Bela Vista). He was injured by a security guard with a knife blow after the two argued.
29/09/2024 – In the early hours of Sunday (29), a homeless armed man entered the base of the 2nd Company of the 7th BPM, on Rua 24 de Maio (Historic Center). According to the Security folder, he threatened police officers, who shot him dead.
30/09/2024 – Responding to an anonymous tip, Military Police found two houses used to store drugs in Santo Amaro (South Zone), on Monday (30). At the scene, three men and two teenagers were arrested, and more than 2.3 thousand portions of assorted drugs, trafficking accounting books and R$13,000 in cash were seized.
02/10/2024 – A music producer was shot dead during the recording of a music video, on Wednesday night (2), on Rua Cariacica, in Vila Nova Cachoeirinha (North Zone). According to witnesses told the police, two unknown men fired more than 60 shots in the direction of the victim. The victim died on the spot.
03/10/2024 – A couple was kidnapped on Thursday night (3) by 5 bandits when they arrived in their car at their daughter’s house, in Vila Leopoldina (West Zone). Relatives of the couple called the PM who tracked the victims’ cell phone signal. The police released the hostages in the early hours of Friday (4), three hours after the search began. In the action, a criminal died in a shootout with the PMs, two were arrested while trying to escape, and two escaped. Their goal was to steal money from the victims.
04/10/2024 – On the morning of Friday (4), Civil Police seized 12 firearms of various models and calibers in a locker of a company in Vila Mariana (South Zone). The discovery of the arsenal is part of a lawsuit on the violation of electronic devices and data networks by the Cybercrime Division (DCCiber). The investigations target a criminal association scheme for the practice of embezzlement.
