23/01/2024 – A famous top model suffered a carjacking attempt in Bela Vista, Centre SP. She shared on her social media she was carjacked while stopped at a red signal. The bandit broke her window, threatened her, and ordered her to give up her handbag and her cell phone. However, nothing was robbed. She also said her car has no tinted window, which could have facilitated the bandit´s choice.

23/01/2024 – Protesters burned a public bus on Anhanguera highway in Perus, North SP, 5 bus lines were interrupted. They were protesting the regular cut of energy and the frequent floods in the region. According to the police, a 55 km traffic jam was registered.
24/01/2024 – Police arrested part of a group of thieves who stole 4km of copper in a subway construction site in Freguesia do Ó, North SP. Indeed, by December 21, 2023, the bandits invaded the site, stole 4km of copper cables and other materials, and loaded it all in trucks. As they were leaving the site, one of the trucks had an accident and was found by a police patrol. That was the beginning of the investigation, which permitted the arrest of 3 fellow bandits and pointed out that the group was experienced and specialized in home jacking.
24/01/2024 – Police found a “stash house” and a lab in Itaquera, East SP. The house was serving as a drugs warehouse and refinery laboratory. The police went to check the information when they found the house. There they found 300kg of drugs, R$ 40k, conditioning and shipping material (including 2 cars), a submachine gun, tactical gear, and a large amount of ammunition of various calibers. The officers also placed 2 bandits in preventive custody, whose one was in provisional release since 2022. A third suspect fled.
24/01/2024 – A police officer was run over by an armored car during a pursuit in Consolação, Centre SP. According to the police and videos shared on social media, the driver broke a checkpoint, climbed the sidewalk, and ran over an officer. The cop, grounded and wounded in the legs, shot at the tires of the car. When the car stopped, other policemen tried to break the windows with a hammer. During the pursuit, the car ran over two motorcycles. The driver was arrested for a homicide attempt. The motivations of the driver are not known.
25/01/2024 – Two children were run over in Canindé, Centre SP. The children of 10 and 13 were on the sidewalk near a sports center when a car lost control, went on the sidewalk, hit the portal of the sports club, and then hit the children. The driver has been controlled by the police and the breathalyzer test resulted positive. He said to the officers his car had a mechanical problem; however, as per the gravity of the facts, he was placed in custody. The children were evacuated to pediatric hospitals. The 13yo boy is polytraumatic.
25/01/2024 – Family was kept hostage by home-jackers in Planalto Paulista, South SP. The victims, 4 brothers and the son of one of them were assaulted, muzzled, and threatened by 3 bandits in their residence. A fourth criminal was waiting in a car outside. The neighbors called for the police as they heard the noise of the tumult. The bandit surrendered after negotiating with the police. They were placed in custody.
26/01/2024 – Off-duty detective interrupted his lunch to arrest a bandit in Itaim Bibi, South SP. The bandit arrived on a motorcycle in the street of the restaurant where the detective was entering. The officer noticed various cars returning their way and people running. When he approached to see what was going on, the bandit saw him and ran away, followed by the policeman, and left behind his motorcycle. After a moment, the bandit turned a corner and carjacked a citizen. After a pursuit, the bandit lost control of the car and was arrested. He had robbed cell phones and watches. He was placed in custody.
