SÃO PAULO SECURITY INCIDENTS – 1ST BULLETIN OF APRIL

The city of São Paulo recorded an increase of 21.9% in thefts and 5.5% in robberies in the first two months of this year compared to the same period in 2022. The data is from the Secretary of Public Security of the State of São Paulo (SSP-SP). According to the survey, between January and February of last year, 21,946 robberies and 32,203 thefts were recorded. While in the first two months of 2023, the number grew, respectively, to 23,171 and 38,997. While in the state of São Paulo, the SSP recorded 38,626 thefts and 81,313 thefts in the first two months of last year across the state. While, in 2023, the number of registered police reports were 39,295 and 91,456, respectively. Which represents an increase of 12.4% in thefts and 1.7% in robberies.
