SÃO PAULO SECURITY INCIDENTS – JUNE MONTHLY BULLETIN

01/06/2024 – The Padre José de Anchieta municipal library, which is located in Perus, North Zone of the capital of São Paulo, was invaded by criminals during the long holiday of Corpus Christi (01). Employees reported that when they arrived for work, they found broken cabinets and glass, as well as a lot of garbage scattered around, damaged appliances, and stolen objects. According to officials, this is the fourth invasion in 15 days at the library.

02/06/2024 – A man and two women were arrested this Sunday (2) after stealing ten cell phones during the LGBTQIA+ Parade. The event took place in the region of Avenida Paulista, in the center of the capital. According to the Secretariat of Public Security, civilian police officers in plain clothes were undercover in the crowd when, in Roosevelt Square, they spotted three people acting suspiciously. The team approached and noticed that one of them handed cell phones to a third suspect, who hid the devices in a bag.

02/06/2024 – A 41-year-old man was arrested with 179 bank cards stolen from LGBTQIA+ Parade participants. The event took place on Sunday (02/06), on Avenida Paulista, in the center of the capital. It also carried four card machines. According to the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), thefts were the main occurrences recorded during the Parade.
