The São Paulo Public Security Secretariat announced that from January to August of this year, 91,000 robberies were recorded in the city of São Paulo alone. This number is 17% higher than that recorded in the same period in 2021.

01/10/2022 – A hairdresser died after being shot in Cidade Dutra, South Zone. The crime took place on Jacopo Torriti Street. According to the Military Police, a man, who was inside a vehicle and hooded, passed the beauty salon and shot the hairdresser.
01/10/2022 – A 16-year-old boy died after being shot in Paraisopólis, South Zone. He fell off the back of a motorcycle and had to be rescued. At the hospital it was found that he had been shot in the back of the head. Witnesses of the crime claim that the shot came from inside a school and that police officers who were security at the scene would have fired the shots.
02/10/2022 – During the election, two military police officers were shot in front of the Deputado Aurélio Campos State School, on Rua Olímpio de Oliveira Chalegre, in the Cidade Dutra neighborhood, South Zone. According to information from the Military Police, a man shot several times and hit two police officers, a man and a woman. There is no information on the reason for the shooting.
03/10/2022 – Two military police officers were shot in front of a school in Interlagos, South Zone. Officers were guarding the elections when they were shot. The Military Police believes that the criminals wanted to steal the military’s weapon. One criminal fled, one criminal was arrested and a minor apprehended.
04/10/2022 – The owner of a bakery shot a São Paulo City Hall inspector and then attempted suicide on Avenida General Ataliba Leonel, in Tucuruvi, North Zone. The Military Police was called to an occurrence of gun shots inside the Pão de Ló bakery. At the scene, the police found a woman, a Sanitary Surveillance inspector, shot in the arm, and a man shot in the head. Both were rescued.
04/10/2022 – A couple was robbed in Jabaquara neighborhood, South Zone. Armed bandits set an ambush, blocked the street and attacked the couple. The man and woman were violently torn from the luxury vehicle, which was stolen. The criminals also took the victims’ cell phones.
Our analysis:
The criminal creates a work schedule that has to be fast and very efficient for him. And if we interrupt that script, we make this situation even more dangerous. So, it’s good to show tranquility, and that you’re not willing to react. It is convenient to keep your hands on the steering wheel, make a sign that you are going to open the window. 05/10/2022 – A woman was victim of the “elbow gang” in downtown São Paulo. The woman was waiting at a traffic light when two men elbowed her car window. The elbow gang breaks car windows using their elbow to steal cell phones and equipment from vehicles.
06/10/2022 – 42 people were charged and taken to the police station in the Cracolândia region, downtown São Paulo, for possessing and consuming drugs. It was another action by the Civil Police to try to suppress drug trafficking and consumption in the Center. The sixth phase of Operation Caronte had the support of Social Assistance and Health of the City of São Paulo. 42 people were charged with drug use, who were referred for treatment, according to the police.
06/10/2022 – A man was entering the garage of a luxury building in the Brooklyn neighborhood, South Zone, when he was approached by two criminals. The thieves demanded the victim’s motorcycle. Residents of surrounding buildings saw the criminal attack and asked for help.
06/10/2022 – A criminal was shot during an attempted robbery of a family in the south zone. The criminals tried to rob a family in the parking lot of a drugstore, but were surprised by one of the victims, who is a sports shooter and fired at least 10 shots. One of the criminals was rescued in serious condition and the other fled.
