31/05/2024 – A young man was assaulted and thrown on the sidewalk of the nightclub Moby Dick, in Santos. The nightclub claimed that it was a disagreement between friends. Witnesses, however, said three of the four attackers, dressed in black clothes and suits, were security guards. The case took place on Avenida Vicente de Carvalho, in the Boqueirão neighborhood.
02/06/2024 – A 51-year-old man was found dead inside Canal 2, on Sunday (02/05), on Avenida Bernardino de Campos. According to the Fire Department, agents responded to the occurrence in the Campo Grande neighborhood. Residents reported that the victim frequented the area after the end of the workday but did not know what had happened.

03/06/2024 – The polyclinic of Vila São Jorge e Caneleira, in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, was without power and canceled services on Monday (03), after having its electrical wiring stolen. In a statement, the Santos City Hall reported that approximately 12 meters of electrical wiring was stolen.
05/06/2024 – Four criminals, one of them carrying a bladed weapon, invaded and robbed a unit of the Oxxo market, located on the corner of Ceará Street and General Francisco Glicério Avenue, in the Pompeia neighborhood, in Santos. The case happened this Wednesday (5), around 6:00. One of the robbers was carrying a box cutter and surrendered the market employee. Meanwhile, the other two men and the woman stole goods from the store. No one was arrested.
05/06/2024 – A 36-year-old painter was arrested in Morro São Bento, on Wednesday (5), on suspicion of killing a call girl at a hotel in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo. The man confessed to police that he had assaulted and strangled the victim until she passed out. The motivation for the crime, according to him, was the value of the service requested by her.
05/06/2024 – The Federal Police, in a joint action with the Federal Revenue Service, seized 271 kilograms of cocaine on Wednesday (5) at the Port of Santos. The drug was hidden in a shipment of 178 tons of bond paper. According to the Federal Revenue Service, the cargo was bound for the Port of Le Havre, in France.
06/06/2024 – A 13-year-old boy claims to have been sexually harassed, on Thursday (06/06), by a counselor in the bathroom of a shopping mall in the Gonzaga neighborhood, in Santos. The man, who is being investigated for attempted rape of a vulnerable person, asked if he could perform oral sex. Upon the arrival of the police, those involved were sent to the 7th Police District (DP), where the boy was heard, and the mother filed a police report.
08/06/2024 – A 77-year-old man died after being hit in the chest in front of his grandson, an 11-year-old child. The case occurred in the Aparecida neighborhood. According to the police report, the child reported that they were crossing Pirajá da Silva Street on Saturday afternoon (08/06)when suddenly, a car advanced towards them, braked sharply and the elderly man leaned on the hood without causing damage. When the victim and grandson finished crossing, the driver walked up to them and kicked the man in the chest. The 39-year-old suspect fled to a nearby market but was located and arrested.
09/06/2024 – On Sunday (09/06), PM and GCM agents operating the CCO cameras saw a man pulling electrical wiring, in the central median of Avenida Ana Costa, in Gonzoga while a woman covered the crime. Police arrived quickly on the scene and arrested the pair. The wiring was returned.
11/06/2024 – On Tuesday (11/06), Military Police (PM) arrested two men and seized approximately 53kg of drugs in Santos and São Vicente. The first arrest took place in Alemoa, Santos, where the PM seized 5.6kg of marijuana and arrested one suspect.
16/06/2024 – About 30 kites and 25 spools of cutting lines were seized by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) in the Bom Retiro neighborhood, on Sunday afternoon (16). The seizure took place after a complaint from residents. According to the residents, a group of teenagers would be flying kites using sharp materials. The Santos City Hall also informed that all the material was collected and sent to the Municipal Administration warehouse.
17/06/2024 – A thief broke into a building in Ponta da Praia and committed property damage in the building’s garage on Monday (17). The surveillance cameras caught the criminal’s entire offense, from the initial entrance over a fence to the attempt at stealing a bicycle. However, realizing the bicycle was heavy, he gave up and left the way he entered.
18/06/2024 – A man who stole bronze plaques at the Paquetá Cemetery was arrested by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM), on Tuesday night (18). According to the police report, a guard who was working in the GCM warehouse saw the individual jumping over the cemetery wall carrying a backpack. The agent contacted the Operational Control Center (CCO) of the City Hall. The man was approached on Amador Bueno Street.
19/06/2024 – Residents of Alberto de Carvalho Street, in the Santa Maria neighborhood, in the Northwest Zone of Santos, have suffered from attacks by vandals and thieves who cut the cables of the road. Because of this, the people who live in the area are left without the internet. A resident said that on Wednesday night (19), her neighbor saw the thieves cutting the wires around 22:00. For this reason, he caught the attention of the criminals, who ended up fleeing.
24/06/2024 – The Federal Police (PF), together with the Federal Revenue Service, seized 44 kilograms of cocaine, at a terminal at the Port of Santos, on the morning of Monday (24). The drug was in tablets that were hidden in the middle of a shipment of refrigerated juice. It would be exported to the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
TRENDS & ADVICE
- Be cautious when in the vicinity of Embaré, Ponto da Praia, Campo Grande, Rádio Clube, Downtown and Estuário.
- Never visit neighborhoods on the hills, such as Morro de São Bento, Jabaquara, Saboo and others.
- The waterfront has many incidents of opportunistic thefts, never display wealth and avoid walks there during the night.
- Residences in the of Pompeia, Gonzaga, Boqueirão, Embaré, Aparecida, Estuário and Ponta da Praia are frequently targeted by thieves. Make sure your building is well protected.
- Be cautious at all times, including in areas perceived as safe.
- Avoid any display of wealth (jewelry, mobile phones), but always carry a small amount of money (R$50) to hand over to muggers if attacked.
- In case of robbery: cooperate, do not try to run after the assailant as they might be armed or resort to violence.
- In case of kidnapping:
- Cooperate in order to mitigate the risk of violence, and do not lie or provide false information to your kidnappers.
- Bear in mind that the vast majority of kidnappings are financially motivated, and that negotiation may be lengthy.
