25/09/2025 – On Thursday night (25/09), a 36-year-old woman was fatally stabbed by her 9-year-old son inside their home in Parelheiros, southern São Paulo. The attack occurred after an argument when she reprimanded him, and it was witnessed by the stepfather and the 19-year-old brother. The woman asked for a final hug before losing consciousness but died on the way to the hospital. The boy, who had shown behavioral changes following the loss of two siblings in recent years, was taken into custody by the Child Protection Council.
27/09/2025 – On Saturday (27/09), military police arrested a bus passenger carrying 27 packages of marijuana in her suitcase after departing from Tietê Bus Terminal, in the Vila Guilherme neighborhood, North Zone. The vehicle was bound for Rio de Janeiro. During a routine inspection, officers found about 13 kilograms of marijuana in the luggage compartment.

28/09/2025 – On Sunday morning (28/09), a homeless man was found dead at Praça da Sé, in downtown São Paulo. The Military Police responded around 9:00, but the victim was already lifeless. The Civil Police registered the case as a “suspicious death” and requested forensic and medical examinations from the Criminalistics Institute (IC) and the Medical Legal Institute (IML). The Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) confirmed the death at the scene. Authorities noted that temperatures had dropped to 14°C overnight but did not link the death to the cold.
28/09/2025 – On Sunday afternoon (28/09), a bus passenger was fatally stabbed by the driver in Parelheiros, in the far south of São Paulo, after complaining that the bus had not stopped at a designated point. Witnesses reported that the victim ran to the next stop, reached the vehicle, and started an argument. During the confrontation, the passenger threw a backpack at the driver, who got out armed with a knife and stabbed the man in the abdomen, killing him on the spot. The driver continued his route but was later intercepted by Military Police officers, who found the knife used in the crime, along with a firearm and ammunition.
30/09/2025 – On Tuesday (30/09), Civil Police and health authorities shut down the Ministrão bar in Jardins, South São Paulo, after a 43-year-old woman was left blind from suspected methanol poisoning linked to vodka consumed there. Over 100 bottles without invoices had already been seized at the site the previous day, prompting its closure for “imminent risk to public health.” Two other establishments, one in Mooca and another in São Bernardo do Campo, were also interdicted. Governor Tarcísio de Freitas confirmed five deaths tied to methanol intoxication, with 22 suspected or confirmed cases under investigation. In total, 117 bottles lacking proper labels and proof of origin were confiscated across multiple bars. Authorities urge consumers to buy only sealed and certified beverages to avoid life-threatening intoxications.
01/10/2025 – On Wednesday (01/10), police seized 1,871 bottle caps and seals from major alcohol brands in a house in Campo Limpo, South São Paulo, suspected of being used for drink adulteration; two men are under investigation. The same day, a major operation in Barueri confiscated 128,000 bottles of vodka and shut down three distributors linked to the Jardins bar where a woman was left blind after suspected methanol poisoning. In total, six establishments were interdicted across São Paulo and the Greater SP area, with 802 bottles seized this week.
01/10/2025 – On Wednesday (01/10), criminal lawyer Luiz Fernando Pacheco, 51, was found unconscious on Itambé Street in Higienópolis, South São Paulo, and died shortly after at Santa Casa hospital. Police are investigating a robbery-homicide: security cameras showed a man and a woman assaulting him after attempting to steal his cell phone, wallet, and watch. Pacheco fell, was helped by a passerby, but did not survive. A co-founder of the Prerrogativas Group and a prominent defender of lawyers’ rights, he left behind two children and will be mourned at the OAB-SP headquarters.
