02/07/2026 – On Thursday (2), a shootout between Rio’s 33rd Military Police Battalion and the Red Command (CV) cartel at Morro da Caixa D’Água left one gunman dead and another captured. A 23-year-old operative died from his injuries at Japuíba Municipal Hospital after opening fire on a patrol, while a 22-year-old lookout was arrested on a nearby staircase. 03/07/2026 – On Friday (3), a joint Civil and Military Police raid dismantled a Red Command (CV) drug cell at Morro do Santo Antônio, resulting in seven arrests.
