26/12/2023 –Shots were heard during a Christmas event in Praia Campista, South Macaé, causing panic and leading people to evacuate the event. Youths were dancing near a sound truck when they heard the gunshots. A young man was injured.

28/12/2023 – Citizens of Macaé were arrested for burglary of grass panels and flowers on a roundabout in Virgem Santa, Centre of Macaé. Indeed, since March 2023, the metropolitan secretary of environment and the police have received various complaints of citizens about people taking things from public works, including grass and flowers. Macaé city hall has informed the roundabouts and construction site will be monitored.
